I just can't see what people are raving about with Crouch. Yes he's a good player, but he's pretty one dimensional IMO. That's why Rafa uses him as a sub and an impact player. He's got very good technique and is a pretty good goalscorer, but he's not one who would fit into a game based on movement and pace ... albeit as a 'pivot' and target men up front.
I don't know why he thinks he should be first choice too ... Torres and Gerrard upfront is a no brainer for me and if we buy another world class striker, he'll be falling down even more in the pecking order.

I like him though. Great character.
not raving about him and as i say would like to see him stay but he wont if it means playing 9 games a season
im a bit concerned that we need another striker (1 at least ) but we wont get a decent one to sit on his arse most of the time
I think Gerrard should play in central midfield, that's his best position.
Like I said if Crouch and Riise were at least on the bench they would've been able to say thankyou to those fans and those fans could've shown their respect to them.
Like it or not mate, to a certain extent this club is built on sentimentality, yes at their best Shankly and Paisley were ruthless, but they were also passionate and compassionate people and passion is a sentiment. Furthermore Liverpool is one hell of a sentimental city that's why football means so much.
You dont need to be on the bench to say thank you to the fans. You can sit in the stands and at the end come over and participate.

I agree, Crouch is an excellent choice in the role of super sub when the need arises. Rafa would like him to stay for that role but if Crouch wants to be a 90 min player it'll be his choice to move on and good luck to him, I wouldn't blame him or Rafa if he goes.
