I disagree with you mate, and here's why...Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostTBH I think it's got more to do with 4231 than rotation. Gerrard is rarely rotated and a couple of games aside neither has Torres.
I know where you are coming from though and I am a little scared that at the beginning of the season we may over-rotate esp. as El Jefecito and Lucas will be away. As long as we rotate players and not systems we should be OK though as I think changing systems is more of a factor as is incorporating new players. Hence, I'd prefer just 1 or 2 additions.
We're frequently the victims of the '11 men behind the ball' kind of tactic played against us and we frequently struggle to break it down.
Sometimes you can try and try...and you just cant carve open a packed, congested defence. So what usually happens is either one of two things...
Either you just dont break them down and draw 0-0 (or worse still, you somehow concede and lose 0-1)...or one of your matchwinners pops up with something completely individual and magical...and wins you the game. Since we only have two of those players, i dont personally agree that we'd be ok if we rotate them too much...because there's no one else to pull that rabbit out of the hat, in such games. Unless of course we buy well this summer.

Whilst two good wingers and two modern, attacking fullbacks would be great, even if we just got ONE good winger, i think we could, with a bit of luck, still challenge. Providing we buy genuine quality.Originally posted by El Jefecito View PostI think so too. Problem is do we have the money for those players or are we going to end up Degen/Milner/Bentley types?

Sorry mate, after you said Richie Partridge was better than Pennant, I stopped taking you seriously.Originally posted by DJS View PostI disagree with you mate, and here's why...

I didnt say that and you know it.
What i was basically saying was that they both make virtually no contribution and i'd rather have the freebie zero contributor than the £7m zero contributor.
Maybe this is your new ploy to avoid arguing a point you dont have an argument for
And if it was about taking people seriously, i'd have never posted a reply to you in my life

It's possible to use rotation but rest those two class attacking players for only a small number of games that you'd expect us to walk without either of them playing, let alone without one.Originally posted by DJS View PostI disagree with you mate, and here's why...

Yes, on paper you're right. But then Birmingham at home (thank feck they're down!) is one which you'd put in that category and it went wrong.Originally posted by Red_Polo View PostIt's possible to use rotation but rest those two class attacking players for only a small number of games that you'd expect us to walk without either of them playing, let alone without one.
If we had 3 or 4 such matchwinners, my god that'd make things so much easier!
