Certainly, but when he backs up his opinion with statements that are factually incorrect it shows that he's wrong and has an agenda as he can't provide legitimate reasons as to why Mourinho should replace Rafa.

If he'd said "I don't think Rafa will deliver, I think it's time for a change and Mourinho would be a good candidate," he wouldn't have got slated in the way he has, although people still wouldn't be happy as lots of us think ex-players shouldn't do things to destabilise the club.

The fact that he's lying/ badly informed and twisting things to back up his opinion/ agenda rather than looking at the facts and letting them shape his thoughts shows he has a clear agenda against the boss.

Obviously factual inaccuracies are useless. However, it's an unsubstantiatable opinion. Nobody can prove it either way, he could list his reasons for this opinion and someone will always have a 'but if this was this...' type of argument. In this case, you just have to accept he has his view, which he is entitled to express without being abused for it.

I accept his opinion and his right to have it. The reasons he cites for that opinion are bollocks though, complete and utter, so I can criticise those til the cows come home and also point out the fact that he's quite stupid if he's aid those things.

i'd accept it too if he put it in a way without malice. even if i did disagree with him they way he said it makes it clear there's some sort of negative agenda.

""He spent the same amount of money that Rafa did and those players are in the Champions League final now.

This is factually incorrect - to say jose and rafa's tasks or budget were the same is ludicrous AND ignores the fact we've been in 2 finals in 3 years (beating mourinho & his players twice to get there), won it once and almost made it again this year. why the fookin hell would anyone who even remotely supports the club deliberately overlook such an achievement when speaking in the press? he has an agenda to undermine rafa / the club and for that, the mans a cock.

ironically, IF we did sack rafa. I'd think mourinho would be our best bet. however IF we did sack rafa without seeing the finishing touches to his work then I'd probably go mental. I see the progress, support the 'project' and believe in it and the manager. Others don't and that's fine. But I think sacking rafa now would be a colossal and very expensive blunder.

Hehe...none of you would be criticising or abusing him if he was using inaccuracies to BACK rafa though

tis true we'd think he was a bit stupid but no, we would abuse him as he'd not be undermining the club that made him.

I dont agree with Whelan. I dont think him having a different opinion makes him a 'cock' however.
I do not know if those comments have been confirmed but if they have this bloke needs a slapping. Seriously what he is saying is just bull****. I do not for one minute believe this is an accurate transcript. He's not that stupid surely!

Does being referred to as an "ex legend" mean that he is no longer considered a legend?

                            It clearly has already.

I should finish the quote to put it in its right context
