Some interesting news regarding Sammy Lee..

Just went for a haircut and Sammy had been in a few weeks before. Supposedly, we knew he was coming back a few weeks after he got sacked at Bolton, but Bolton would not let him go to another club during the season.

They wouldn't give him his pay off until the end of the season, and he was on gardening leave .. sounds like Pako case?

Sammy said in the interview on the Offal that he didn't know about the job until the back-end of last week.

With Pako on gardening leave also it would have been complicated for us to appoint another number 2 until now anyway I'd imagine.

Not really. We just have tight arse owners.

Anyway, would anyone be surprised if Pako is Jose's no 2 at his next club?
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I would imagine that if we had signed a new number 2 up then Pako would have been free to work at another club as his job was no longer there to go back to and as we didn't want that to happen that's why it was complicated, nothing to do with the owners.

Why do you say that mate? I am not really fully aware of this development?

It was widely rumoured at the time that Rafa was angry at Pako's friendliness with people in the Chelsea camp. Recently in an interview Rafa said he felt let down by Pako talking to other people and that he felt he had breached his trust. There is an element of putting two and two together but it would make a certain sort of sense.

The most amazing thing about this is that -- having seen Sammy Lee's mole-man haircut -- you went to the same place to get yours cut. Shocking.

I thought the issue was that he was interviewing for jobs in spain.

I've heard all sorts of rumours. I was just relaying the one that made sense in context.

All that matters to me is that he lost Rafa's confidence and therefore had to leave. I doubt we will ever know the full story.

Cheers DWW. That certainly adds verisimilitude to the scenario described in Skillz' comments.

dww is right. I base my comments on those developments, whether true or not. I am not saying its happening but I have a feeling it will and that pisses me off. Jose will have a very good insight to Rafa's philosophy mind you he needs it
