raffa up until the barnsley humileation was still rotateing to the max and after that when we went on that run were we only lost to the manks he didnt, alot of missed chances in the early part of the season cost us aswell and that was when he had a fit squad but the rotateing killed us
When we had a fully fit team we were top of the league. Then we lost Agger, Alonso, Pennant to long term injury and briefly Gerrard, Carragher, Torres and Aurelio in a short space of time. From mid January we have finished with the most points. Would this not be due to having most of our injured players back and Skrtel joining?
If injuries had nothing to do with it then was it just by luck or dip in form happened right when we had a lot of injuries?

Decent spine. If the spine plays together 90% of the games, no doubt, we will be a very strong team next season and should get more points next season. The problem for me which has been highlighted by fellow posters is the width. We have Babel as our only recognised out and out winger. The rest are somewhat ok but we really need to look at serious investment in those areas. Degen coming in means that we will have an attacking right back according to reports and Dossena has that aggressive style that we might need for the future aggressive backline of Liverpool (??? Skrtel Agger Dossena, I don't expect Degen to be our main right back for many years to come)

Right wing is obviously a problem. We have the industrious Kuyt but when push comes to shove, the man doesn't have goals in the Premiership. Sure, when the Champions League music goes out at Anfield, the ticker in his head turns on and we see a truly sweat breaking performance but realistically, I can't see him scoring 10 goals in the Premiership due to his lack of skill and ability. A squad member maybe but certainly not a first team player for a side chasing the title.

Read on another site the full interview which goes on to say that Rafa needs to raise £25 to £30 million from sales as the club have only given him £15M to spend this summer and judging by the whole interview there is little reason to doubt this. If this is the case this is shocking that a club with our fan base and history are being outspent on players by the likes of Spurs. All i have to say is thank you very much MR Moores for making sure the future of the club is in safe hands. Hope that extra £8m is keeping you warm at night. You have managed to destroy the previous 35+ years of hard work by people who built this club into what is was before you got your grubby mitts on it in just over half the time.

yes injuries cost us but thats not just the reason we didnt win and like i said even with a full strengh 11 out we have thrown away points and thats cost us aswell....

But we didnt when we had our full strength team out at the start we were top, if the league started again when we had most of them back + Skrtel then we would have been top again. Once again it was when we had the injuries when we lost top spot, when we didnt we were the best team. How you cant blame injuries is beyond me.
Against the top teams when we had our full team we certainly didnt look out of the top class. Which top team took us apart, from memory apart from the away United match we well held our own and didnt get the results we deserved.

After 2 or 3 signings, i'll get a bit more positive and i'll be counting down the days til the start of the season
