    Odd Rumour

Anyone else seen this on the BBC gossip doodad:
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez will not use the number seven in his squad next year because of the pressure it puts on players to live up to previous incumbents like Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish. (News of the World)

The pressure used to be on the number but we're taking over 10 years ago.

McManaman and Smicer were before Kewell. Not sure who had it before McManaman?!

                    Thanks Levi.

IMO McManaman was certainly worthy of the shirt even if he did drop us in it at the end.

I don't think we have anyone worthy unless we sign someone, and I don't get the feeling that will be the case. Same goes with the 10 once Voronin is kicked out. I hate it when **** players get the best shirt numbers.

Worra loada ****in bollocks that is

If Rafa used logic like that then surely Number 9 would not have been given to El Nino in case he felt the pressure of having to follow Tosh, Rush, Aldridge, Fowler etc..
"Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to the eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost.
                          Justice urged on my high artificer;
                          My maker was divine authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love.
Before me nothing but eternal things were made,
                          And I endure eternally.
Abandon every hope, ye who enter here."

                          And like that… he's gone

Fowler & Macca were the highlights of the 90's for me

I was gonna say Clough had #7 before Macca but I'm not sure. Don't know where this rumour has come from or how much truth their is in it anyway?!

I wouldn't be surprised. He really does look too much into things.
