Does Anybody know what the hell is going on?

So I am thinking its been incredibly quiet on the western front of late. All activity has ground to a halt. Anybody know what the situation at the club is.

Am I right in thinking, a cease fire has been called between the G&T and they are now focused on building the Stadium and probably cashing in there afterwards. Financially just what is the overall state of affairs, last I heard we were in debt and in need of re financing with the cost of credit at and all time high.

Transfer activity, not a lot has happened on incoming activity. Think the business we have done so far on off loading certain players has been exceptional, add Carson into the Mix perhaps Pennant and we will have done great business selling. But not a lot happening right now on incoming players, Barry and one more top top signing I would be very happy, ideally 3 players would be great

Has the work on the stadium really started?

When realistically do you expect to hear about additional signings. Surely its got to be with in the next 2 weeks at the latest. We are already Mid way through July!!

I have a feeling Alonso will end up at Real next year. Does anybody have any inside info on whats going on... this summer has been particularly quite, I was expecting a rash of activity after the Euro's but in reality its been so quite you could hear a fish fart

    Bring on the new Season

Read the DIC thread you lazy git!

No,jokes aside, looks like DIC/Sheik Mo are just biding their time tbh.It seems were stuck with G&H for the forseeable future.Ground works have started for the stadium but the way i see it,they are just doing the bare minimum to make sure they get the grant.Buying themselves more time.

The scariest thing about the whole thing is the damage they are doing at the moment with regard to loans, the lies and the fact that the two of them can't stand each other.

Yes,we want the best players in the world, but not borrowing astronomical amounts on the club.It worries me.

Still,Rafa seems extremely relaxed and seems to be almost oozing in confidence. His positivity is somewhat comforting in all this mess.

Dave usher also seems to think the deal for Keane as good as done.

The way Rafa has been recently is enough to keep me happy. He knows something and whatever it is he seems happy with, so in rafa we trust!!

There are a lot of positives and negatives but this summer has been endless and the win at Tottenham seems ages ago. RAFA is relaxed and contented, for me he is the nucleus of everything positive. The squad is getting better and we are getting closer. Waldorf and Stattler have lost too much credibility and the speculation continues about them and DIC. In the meantime their position is Liverpool's fans eyes is irrevocable and Hicks in particular will be treated like a lepper. RAFA has something up his sleeve which will become common knowledge in due course, I just hope that it is something more exciting than Gareth Barry!

I can't wait for this announcement, hopefully a totally out of the blue signing of Torres proportions

I don't know of any clubs who've yet made any major transfers, it all seems far too quiet to me, and that goes for all the top clubs. I was expecting a transfer frenzy post euros.

Personally, I don't think any of the deals we've been talking about will happen, Barry, Keane or Silva. I can see Barry going to Arsenal as O'Neil has accepted he'll need to go but will make it far easier for any other team to do business than ourselves. I really can't see Keane leaving Spurs and I can't see Rafa being the kind of guy to spend £20m on a player who's going to be worth £10M in 2 years because of his age. As far as Silva goes, I can't see what all the fuss is about and at the best part of £20m its a joke.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I guess as the Arsenal chairman or chief exec said money is just harder to come by in the current economic climate. However the selling clubs seem to be keeping to the prices which might have been expected in the old environment.

I can't see Barry going to Arsenal even if they do infact want him - the cost would be too high for an older player. Wenger has never gone in for that sort of signing - even if I think he would do well for them.

Part of my job is to go and withdraw the money to pay for new players, work on the new stadium etc, so I have a good handle on what's going on. I haven't posted it as I didn't think anyone would be interested.

I know what you mean re Rafa's aura ... Great men inspire confidence, lets just hope he gets backed the way he should, he is our best hope of breaking the domestic dominance that is Manure
