    Carson signs for Baggies.

Skysports.com can confirm West Brom have won the race to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The Baggies have beaten off interest from a host of clubs to sign the England international.

Liverpool decided to let Carson leave after bringing in Brazilian Diego Cavaleri as cover for No.1 Jose Reina.

Stoke agreed a fee with Liverpool earlier this week and held talks with Carson only to pull out of the move on Thursday.

West Brom also negotiated a fee with Liverpool for Carson and the former Leeds custodian has agreed a four-year deal at The Hawthorns.

Carson's agent Colin Gordon has confirmed the deal has been done to bring Carson to West Brom.

"The deal has been done," Gordon told skysports.com.

"Scott has signed a four-year deal with West Brom.

"They will pay £3.25million which will rise to £4million for Scott."

£3.25 million is a little disappointing - although still a profit on what we originally paid.

Kirkland also hasnt shown any real spark of brillance either.

        Good luck to Scott though.

aye - would have been nice if we had got say £5m min - but he wasn't needed and it's another £3m into the funds. Good luck to him, prob a better move for him then stoke, who will really struggle.

Thats liverpools problem in the transfer market

            - we are trying to get rid of players as opposed to fighting to keep them - ie, if villa didn't want barry it would have been done and dusted for £12m - so we are forced to sell cheaply to get rid

            - then when it comes to buying, we can't compete for the top stars due to money, so we are forced to buy the best of the rest (keane/barry) who are their clubs star players and the clubs don't want to sell so were ****ed!

He's crap. £4m will be a result all things considered.

Friedel, James, Kirkland, Carson - all former Liverpool keepers who have gone on to become 1st choice keepers in Premiership sides. Quite impressive. They all tend to play a blinder whenever we face them too

£6m (in total) for Carson is great business in the end. The only sour note is we all built our hopes up of getting £10m from Villa, but that would have been ridiculous.

All gone on to be 1st choice keepers at lesser clubs. It appears that you need a certain type of mentality to be a top class keeper at a top, top club a la Pepe, Cech, Van der Saar - the aforementioned quartet did not have it!!!

Apart from his England blunder, I really don't understand what he has done to make people think he is so bad.

He hasn't had one decent game since that blunder according to my Villan friend.

He'll certainly get plenty of practice at West Brom

Me too, it baffles me. He's a solid enough keeper and still very young.
Bit disappointed to see him go tbh.
