Spurs angry with Us and Man Utd

Liverpool and Manchester United have been reported to the Premier League by Tottenham Hotspur following their respective interest in Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov.

Spurs are unhappy with the conduct of their top-flight rivals following speculation linking Keane with a move to Anfield, and Berbatov with a switch to Old Trafford.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has expressed his interest in Keane, while United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken of his optimism of concluding a deal for Berbatov.

However, Spurs have criticised the two clubs, with chairman Daniel Levy feeling they have to take the matter up with the Premier League.
    Sheer arrogance

"Today's public comments by Manchester United's manager, announcing that he has made an offer for Dimitar and is confident that the deal will go through with time working in their favour, is a blatant example of sheer arrogance and interference with one of our players," said Levy in a statement on the club's official website.

"It is also probably one of the worst offences by any manager in the Premier League to date and is unbelievably hypocritical given his recent comments in respect of Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid.

"This comes after a series of events, dating back to last summer, which have shown Manchester United to be in breach of Premier League (PL) rules. As a result, we have today made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Manchester United.

"Benitez made similar comments in respect of Robbie recently and we made an official complaint to the PL about the conduct of Liverpool earlier this week.

"The behaviour of both clubs has been disgraceful. We told both clubs very early on that we had no interest in selling Robbie or Dimitar, respectively, and that they should refrain from pursuing the player. Both clubs arrogantly chose to ignore this request and we now have evidence that both clubs have systematically been working to prise the players away from us, outside of PL rules of conduct.

    Negative influence

"Our subsequent position has been severely compromised by both clubs making their intentions widely known and indeed making contact with the players and their agents, without the club's permission.

"I have absolutely no wish to sell either player and to date we have not accepted any offer for either. However, when a player's head is turned and their commitment is absent, particularly when they occupy key positions such as that of striker, they become a negative influence in a team dressing room in which they were once a positive addition and influence.

"This is the situation we now have on our hands, with both Dimitar and Robbie having made it clear that they wish to leave for Manchester Utd and Liverpool respectively.

"Irrespective of the outcome and futures of Robbie and Dimitar, we are continuing to seek to bring in quality, talented players for the future, who want to play in a Spurs shirt."

Basically, they don't want to sell either Striker but may be forced to do so as Liverpool and Man Utd have illegally tapped them up and convinced them to leave Spurs.

In short, no bid has been accepted for either player but they may be forced to deal now as both players wish to leave

I guess it's ok for Fergie to tap up every player under the sun but when he's on the receiving end he starts spouting historical racist ****

Yeah, Levy just trying to protect himself from a backlash by the Spurs fans. He knows he may be forced to sell now and as a result doesn't want anger the fans in doing so

Typical of Fergie. He taps up nearly every player he buys Stam, Van Nistelrooy, Hargreaves etc. But when somebody goes after one of his players he starts throwing his toys out of his pram
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

My Spurs mate - one of my best mates (I'm Godfather to his daughters!) - has flipped. I should add that I 'broke' Elisha's news to him earlier in the week and he was cocksure, smug and defiant that I was talking **** and we "didn't have the dough".

                Here's the sequence of texts...

Him: I see we have reported you for tapping up. Bunch of cunts. Hope we drain every last penny out of you.

Me: It's hilarious. You go round buying everyone under the sun and start crying when your best players leave. Boo hoo!

                Him: **** off ****.

                Me: Boooooo hooooo!! Loving it!

Him: £20m for someone you don't rate is funny.

Me: Still boohooing then. Bitter as you like!

Him: Not really. You will still be as **** as ever next season. You won't hang on to Torres for long either.

Me: Hahahahaha. Dry your eyes mate. Oh and there's some egg on your face that needs wiping off too!

Him: To be honest I'm cool about it. It's the way you cunts have gone about it I don't like.

Me: What, you mean bought him? The NERVE! Yeah you sound cool. I know it must hurt...your hero itching to you leave you for us.

Him: Mate, I have got more important things to worry about I can assure you. We will replace him and you will have an over the hill striker in a couple of years.

Me: Sounded like it when you were spitting rage when the link first arose, and, when I told you the deal was done, exploded into a cocksure rant that we "didn't have the dough". lol. Funny as ****! Where's your 'Keano' gone!

Him: I still fail to see where it's coming from. Yet more debt problems for you.

Me: Mmm right! I explained before this went public. We've raised about £25m in sales. Top drawer wheeling and dealing mate. Looking forward to seeing Keane in Red.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Supporting can be hard. Him mentioning the debt, anything to try and take the shine off Keane joining.

We do tap players up - it's common practice in Spain - we'd been talking to Torres for up to a year. Most others teams do it too, especially Manure, but I'd like to think that we aren't hypocritical ehough to whine about it like Slur Al.

I heard a foreign coach stating yesterday that a player they were interested in had given them permission to talk to his club...

Fifa stated after Utd made their complaint about Madrid, that once a club has informed another club of there intentions to bid for another player, they are free to talk to that player, whether the club likes it or not.

                          Levy's complaint is baseless.

Article 18 of Fifa's regulations states one club has to inform another in writing if they are to start negotiations.

However, the rules do not specifically state that the club that owns the player has to give consent.

We aint too innocent. Like the man says....goes on all over. Anyway, once paper interest is established, if interested, the player simply says to agent...'Anything in this/ Have a look for me'
                            Nothing clubs can do.

I do wait for the day though when a club puts a top player in the reserves for 2 years for breaking his contract. I'd love to see that happen!

Everyone does it - it is just that no-one likes it when it happens to them. Finger pointing doesn't work for any club, which is why I hope we are never two-faced enough to moan. We all remember Stevie and Chelsea, and we should all remember Ziege too.
