Just a smug post from me and my youngest. Arrived in Valencia today for wednesdays Villareal game. Seen a couple of Irish reds also going to the game. Looks like we will be the first to see Roy Keane. They are going to show Spains Euro championship trophy at the game. Looking forward to seeing Torres reunited with his trophy. Anyone else going to the game? P.S. Not really chilled out because its bloody hot here -35 today. Its 11.30 pm now and im still sweating. End of smug report. Maybe more tomorrow
Minus 35 bloody hot?
In the life, of a man, there are times and there are seasons.
There's a time to surf and there's a time to wax your board.
Back on line after a hiccup caused by the hotel computer not allowing any bloody log ons. Turned up at our hotel in Castellon to find our entry blocked by the Liverpool team bus and the players pushing in ahead of us. No manners! Spent a great day in the hotel spotting players and footy people. Get loads of photos with Torres, Keane, Rafa and even Del Bosque who was there as Manager of Spain with Hiero from Real Madrid. Saw Parry a few times looking worried. After the team bus went we zipped off in the car with a couple of Irish lads from an Irish language station in Galway. I hope Kevin does not mind me blowing his cover by saying the Press tickets he got as freebies did not translate into any reporting on the station but what a great way to get freebies. Thinking of "owning" my own staion. Might be a "scouse" language station. Well if it works for him.... Vila-Real is definitely not a place you would go to for your holidays. I suspect its Spanish for "run down". Stadium was a concrete bowl but the locals were very friendly. My lad had his scarf swapped off him in no time.As for the game itself-ah well theres always a downside. Given that we had travelled 1000 miles and paid 40 euros each it was definitely a bit of a let down. Could have been worse though. The other tickets cost 60 and 80 Euros! For a friendly. Top price 64 pounds. I thought 32 pounds was bad enough. My observations on the game were that were good chances for both teams and 2-2 would have been a fairer score. A lot of anonymous play going on. We couldn`t understand why Babel was so crap. Only found our after the game it was Ngog. Bloody Spanish announcements. Overall the day was great but the match was crap. When we walked away I did not get the feeling I had seen a possible Championship team-but early days. Oh and thanks to the anonymous Git in the hotel car park who damaged the hire car. Looks like an expensive do .
