You pick your best 11 and you let them play together week in week out. Some of these players have had less than 20 minutes on the pitch.

How can he expect them to develop cohesion with this kind of tinkering?

I actually agree to some extent.

Rafa never uses the friendlies to get a rhythm going for the league, which is a bit unusual. I donnt know if this works against us or not, but we have been a bit slow out of the blocks in the past.

He tends to use them as a shop window if anything. I reckon he relies on training to make selection decisions, and the friendlies are for nothing but fitness.
