I'm pretty sure it has done before but not in the last few seasons and shouldn't do this time around.

      Good stuff.

Poor as **** at the moment, so going to have to save my cash for the group games.

Got a text from my mate today, including booking fees a ticket for the Lazio friendly and Boro at home cost a combo of £60.

      ****ing joke.

Anyone know if the 1st leg is likely to be on TV?
These qualifiers always have been in the past but are not currently shown on any of the TV listings. E-season and LFC TV don't look like having it on either.

Last year the qualifiers were on Setanta 1 or 2. Don't see it in their listings yet, but they only announced it a day or two in advance last year.

Kick off is at 20:05 which often means it is on the BBC.

Interesting observation. I don't ever recall a CL qualifier on the beeb.

Might have watched for the comedy value if I'd known.

They have to schedule it around the far more important Eastenders.

                    Possibly.

I did actually watch parts of it on Channel 990(?) on Sky - it would have been painful to watch if you were Rangers fan, i've seen a better standard at park level!!!!

Anyone know if Liege are actually any good?
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Standard is a great (young) team in Belgium with fantastic supporters which remind most of the people to Italian supporters (Milan, Roma). The team itself is pretty good when you compare them to others in the Belgian "Jupiler Pro League". They have some good young players in their ranks and have one of the best academies in Europe. Recently they signed a partnership with Real Madrid to interchange youngsters.

The biggest threat in the team is Jovanovic, a very talented Serbian striker which is unpredictable and has a big temper. Quick with his feet and finds the net easily. Also, often you don't see him for like 15 minutes but then out of nowhere he scores a fantastic goal. At the moment PSV would like to buy him (Standard want around 6 million euros for him) which can be a "blessing" for Liverpool since he may not play.

Their midfield is the beating heart of the team with Belgian prospects like Fellaini and Defour (only 21 and already captain). Fellaini, strong in the air and not easily to put off the ball has played today in China against Brazil where he received two yellow cards (both were easily given by the referee, the second yellow he didn't even touch Rafinha who fell like his legs where broken in half).

The biggest weakness of the team is certainly their keeper, Espinosa, who always makes mistakes. It's a shame that such team which have had great keepers like Vedran Runje, Michel Preud'homme, Carini and Munaron.
Here you see him in action, fortunately the final whistle was just blown.

Nevertheless, Standard should be pretty easy to overcome for Liverpool.

Also, there's a Liverpool supporters club in Liege.

Some previous players: Conceiçao, Prosinecki, Spehar, Sa Pinto, Wilmots, Van Buyten and Emile Mpenza.
