I think it depends how much influence he is allowed. If he can create a stable and successful squad which will genuinely benefit from igning one big name each year then he will be fine.

I think it is surprising that noone has seen that Capello is clearly going to want to overhall the Real squad meaning that there must be at least a few quality players who should be available.
