Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has delayed the pre-match rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone at Anfield until just before kick-off. Historically, the anthem has been played while the players take the pitch, but the Spaniard said: "We thought it would keep the atmosphere right up until kick-off."

......well we beat the Mancs on saturday. Although I agree I did like the singing of the players respective songs before kick off

That Premier League anthem (?!) makes James Blunt sound rousing. Much as I hate meddling with tradition I think Rafa has made the right call here.

bollocks to YNWA. each player should be announced individually with their birth place and weight and then have their own intro music a la WWE!!! the same goes for substitutions. actually, maybe substitutions should be done via "tagging" the guy on the bench?

I wonder what each player would/should have as their intro music....???
