Malouda said initially he spoke to Rafa and really felt the club wanted him. He then said later he spoke to others at the club and got the impression they were not all that bothered. Just another thing pushing him towards Chelsea.

Whether we dodged a bullet or not, is besides the point, if you can't compete in the money stakes you can't be driving players off for reasons like this.

It does seem like Rafa has been slowly edged out of anything to do with transfers other than coming up with a list of names.

Anyway, on came the Berbatov video. Fergie met him at the airport, took him off in his Bentley and then arrived at his office to discuss the offer. Fergie put in the effort, made the ego feel wanted and special.

I'm not sure how we do things here, but from Rafa's comments about the Barry saga, he is not involved, its all Parry. I'm sure a similar thing happened when Owen went to Newcastle. Owen was whisked off with both Souness and Shearer who then sat with him (at Sounesses place I think) for several hours and again made him feel wanted. We held our discussions at a hotel, and I'm sure Rafa wasn't involved. At the end of the day, Newcastle offered a **** load of money to Real for his services and we couldn't match it, but thats not the point.

We have Parry doing our deals. The guy is not charismatic, he comes across to me as a bit of a bumbling cross between Tony Blair and Hugh Grant. He's not Alex Ferguson, thats for sure.

Of course Fergie is being backed financially to buy these players and Rafa is not, but, if we were able to spend and bring in a top class player or two every season, who do you think would win a negotiation? Parry who would no doubt meet up with said player in a Holiday Inn or Fergie who would be there to shake your hand off the plane? Rafa himself is not known for his communication skills, I think Gerrard himself has said that he doesn't really talk to the lads about anything other than on the training ground.

The Berbatov deal all seemed to slick, professional and rehearsed, I just don't have that feeling about the way we do our business.
You missed out the blatant "tapping up". They have also bribed Spurs not to file a compliant against them. This again is illegal. Regardless of whether Spurs file a complaint the FA should take up the case in court, plus they need to take a lot of their previous dealings into consideration. MUFC and Fergerson must be brought to justice and should be heavily penalised

Slur Alex & Man Management = Big Red Nosed Bully.

Remember some of his players (Neville's, Sharp etc) in a documentary long time back stating Fergie's nickname in the dressing room was the 'Hairdryer' stemming from the way he'd be in the face when rollicking his players. I'd much prefer to have been known as the Tornado or the Hurricane mind you, 'Hairdryer' is a tad too puffy for me.

The Purple nosed **** has bought David Ginola hopefully he will be as affective as that over hyped player was.

Would really love to see this signing end in tears

He is quality of that there is no doubt .. but he is lazy, indulgent and volatile ..there is a chance he wont be all that for United also Keane fed most of them goals to him

Rooney, Tevez, crynaldo and Scholes probably wont give him good enough service

There is also a chance that he will slot in very nicely. Personally, I think he is going to prove to be an excellent signing for them.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

The main difference is that we are always trying to get the players for a fair price (or on the cheap). Manu are prepared to pay the full asking price or even over the odds (Ronaldo, Ferdinand and in the case of Berbatov, bung a bit more on to keep Spurs quiet)

I think the stinginess is partly from Rafa, who apparently is a bit of a bargain hunter, however it appeared that in the case of Barry, after a few months of haggling, his attitude was just give them what they want.

I'm delighted the mugs have shelled out way over the odds for Berbatov. A £30m+ striker who got just 15 League goals last season and 12 the year before.

I don't know how you can be so sure, he would have been used as a proper wide player with us.
