        I find it hard to agree with that sentiment. To me, if an offence is worthy of a card then it shouldn't matter how early on it is, or what the occasion is.

            That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that if someone commits a tackle that is worthy of a yellow card, then they should get a yellow card - no matter if it is in the 1st or last minute, or if it is Liverpool vs Man Utd, or Wigan vs Fulham.

            Obviously if the referee become petty and starts blowing up for every little offence then that is a different matter.

              Webb was the ref 4 wednesday's Portugal - Denmark clash & he booked Nani for a clumsy tackle on Agger, hopefully more of the same tomorrow...
