Just watched the highlights on MOD and was coming here to 'big up' Reira, first thread i see is this one, class.

I like him, he looks like he's got guile and skill, showed some exquisite touches today, some cute passes between the lines and lovely ball control, more of the same please.

Add a fit Gerrard and Torres to the mix.....sit back.... and enjoy.

Great debut, lets not forget he was pressuring Wank Brown when VDS palmed the ball onto him for the first goal

It was really pleasing to see a top opposition defense actually ****ting themselves about one of our players. A lot of the confidence we gained in the game came from Riera making Brown look like bumbling idiot. Brown has been excellent for United in the last year or so and to get at him like that and make the center backs come across to cover was excellent to see.

Good debut. By all accounts from Spain he is a moody bugger though so we shall see how he pans out long term. Especially as Rafa is not reknowned for his 'arm around the shoulder' man management style.

Lets not forget that at times Reira had a clear run at Brown due to United's formation it will be interesting to see how he copes in games when there are two banks of 4 between us and the goal.

Forgot: He also had a decent hit in the second half, plenty of power and well controlled.

Based on admittedly this single match, I am pleased we got him for 8 million rather than Barry for 18, even though it might have meant Sami missed out on the CL.

No of course not, they will never get anything right ever Although we would probably have played a different formation with Barry, more similar even to United's maybe? On the basis of this game though things turned out alright.

An excellent point. We badly needed a wide player to stretch teams and somebody with a bit of magic. Riera gave us that yesterday.
Some people think Pennant can do it but Riera has way more to his game than Pennant ever will. He has game intelligence as Rafa might say.
I look forward to seeing him play next.
