I put tonights performance down to the United game and the fatigue and I have already said that it was a good result. The football was awful though and I'd hate to revert to type after such a good win.

It wasn't awful though. We played well in the first half, the second half wasn't great and Marseille really should have scored but we weren't that bad.

At this point last year we were far far worse and our performances were ****. We're really hard to break down and tonight we defend like a special forces unit, every player backing the other, ****ing hell even Ryan Babel was getting his foot in man.

After Saturday's game I'm surprised everyone could actually run properly.

C'mon Rashid give the team a break man, what more do you want fella. We're solid as a unit, we're dangerous when we want to and need to be.

I actually thought during the game tonight that if Cheyrou had joined this Liverpool side, rather than dysfunctional mob he actually joined, he might shine. There's no doubt he was a gifted footballer - he was just crippled by a total lack of confidence. Didn't have the mental fortitude required to play for us.
