Arbeloa is due a rest and I think we can afford to give Degen his first start. You could make a case for bringing Sami in to deal with their only weapon - the enormous long throw - but I'd stick with Skrtel.
I think this a game for Sami as well.
Look at the size of the Stoke players (from .no):
Sonko (midtstopper) 191 cm, Cort (midtstopper) 191 cm, Faye (sentral midtbane) 187 cm, Olofinjana (sentral midtbane) 193 cm, Fuller (angrep) 191 cm og Kitson (angrep) 191 cm. r Mamady Sidebe (angrep) på 193 cm, og for å fullføre sentrallinjen er keeper Thomas Sørensen 196 cm.
As Stoke will probably sit back and wait for us we don`t need to bring the ball from the back (one of Aggers strong points) and Skrtel has a tendency to give away free-kicks around the edge of the box.
I also think this a game for El Zhar. When they sit back we need someone to hug the line, and be able to take on defenders. I think he is the sort of player to bring on for the last half an hour if we still need to break them down.

I can see Alonso, Sami and Riera starting this one and Keane and Torres will probably be given the chance to get amongst the goals.

      Reina

      Degen
      Carra
      Sami
      Aurelio

      Riera
      Alonso
      Gerrard
      Pennant? - probably Kuyt

      Keane
      Torres
      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Silly thread and asking for trouble. We should beat them but using words like "slaughtering" may bite us back on the arse.

with the games that follow, and with the Manc-Chav match, a big win here is essential.

2008 at Anfield has been incredible, in January we drew our first 2 matches (Wigan & Villa), but since then we have full points from 11 games. Long may fortress Anfield continue.

Jamie to sit this one out for me and let Agger step in.

If rafa was to tinker with the side i wouldn't mind N'Gog getting a look in

Exactly mate .... but hey were Liverpool right and they are Stoke ... we just show up and beat them by 5 .. thats how it works right

I will be very happy to see the Boss, rest some players perhaps give Masher, Dirk, and Torres a rest.

I will take anykind of win and would love to see Robbie pop his kop cherry
