Overall I'm not sure what influence those two will have but I think that we did need extra people to back Rafa up and for him to bounce ideas off after last season - so their presence is welcome.
He was one of the worst players I have ever seen turn out for us!! Totally past it when he signed and turned like a bus, could turn out to be a good coach though!

Make a pledge, Rashid. Make a pledge that you'll give an apology to Rafa if he wins the league. Your negativity towards him makes you sound very strange mate. He's our manager, whether you like it or not, and you should get behind him.
I think Rashid would be over joyed to be in the position to make an apology come the end of May. Just like I am more than happy to say Kuyt has improved.

We all have our own opinion on matters and I think we all know (deep down) that Rashid is a big LFC fan just like the rest of us. His personality tends to be more the half empty though when it comes to discussing LFC.
        Forwards.......

agreed .. which is why i don't think Sammy was at fault and working on a shoestring budget with older players and then trying to play better football. It just couldn't work, he deserves credit for trying though

I love looking at the bench and seeing Lee and Pellegrino sat either side of Rafa.

I get the feeling neither are "yes" men, which I think is good, especially with a stubborn man like Rafa.

If Rafa wants a 'yes man' then he could do no better than to get Phil 'Yes Boss' Neal in.

In lots of ways I agree. However from set pieces (the specific thing I was talking about) we were much, much better with him in the team and the defensive unit overall improved on this during his time with us and Rafa and the players gave credit to the work he did it teaching people this.

No one doubts that his legs had gone and he was a liability in open play when he was here first time round.

The biggest yes man is Phil Thompson - he is a legend and still is but he turned into a prick with Houllier.

He may or may not be a 'yes man' but he'll never be in Neal's league - you only need to see the infamous Graham Taylor 'Do I not like that!' documentary.

From 45 seconds in is particularly damning/hilarious.

I doubt very much if Thommo is a yes man. I cant imagine him saying **** all if a decision seemed likely to harm his beloved Liverpool.

I think you are a tosser, look at the contributions to this thread so far. Your an undercover manc im sure of it.

Yeah I would go with that, he has gravitas and a air about him that players will take to, older brother type, Sammy another great signing. I think it has made us a much stronger unit. Everything is lining up right now, we need to take advantage of it and so far that is exactly what we are doing

I loved that shot of Sammy jumping up and down pumping his fists like a demented lunatic behind Rafa after we scored against the Mancs. We need that passion in the mgmt team as well as tactical & technical prowess....
