Reina hasnt been flawless for 2 years, nobody is.

Casillas has far more to do for Real Madrid, due to their style of play and he's been superb for years. Buffon is just immense.

Why do people interpret it as a dig at Reina? He's excellent, but i just think those other two are better. I AM allowed to think that.

could you tell me in what area do you think they are better? and do you consistently watch either to be able to make that assesment, as I am sure according to a highlights reel, David James is probably the best

Casillas is busier on a regular basis and Buffon is more commanding - in my opinion.

And yes, i do see more than highlights.

My cousin firmly believes that Buffon is the best but i think its Casillas. If Reina keeps improving like he is doing then he could get there. Excellent start to the season

Simple question for those who are rating Casillas and Buffon higher...would you swap Reina for either of them, especially given the way that Reina is not just a keeper, but also almost a sweeper?

I rate Reina on a par with the other two, so no wouldn't swap with either. In Casillas' case I think he is rated highly due to the amount of work he has due to Real Madrid's ****e defence - admittedly he does it well.

One of Pepe's main strengths is that he will have little to do most of the game, but when called upon more often than not he comes up with the goods.

I agree that they have different strengths and that people rate Casillas a lot more because of the amount of work he has to do (a lot of non LFC fans don't recognise how good Pepe is for example). I was however very impressed by Casillas in the Euros where he had to do a more concentration based game.

I think it is fair to say there is an elite group of four keepers who have been named by everyone here are in a different class to anyone else in the world. No one could really be too upset if someone else rated anyone of them higher than the others as the margins are very small between them (although Cech is the only one I feel is regressing).

I don't see enough of other leagues to compare him to the rest of Europe but for me he's now head and shoulders above anyone else in the Premier League including Cech.

I reckon he could play outfield too if we ever needed him, not too many keepers can ping 70 yard pin point balls down the line with their weaker foot.
