I agree with anfieldanfield Reina is a matchwinner he saves a penalty in the last minute and we are winning 2-1 he won the game
Well by definition, the keeper can do anything he likes (bar scoring a goal) but he still needs someone else to score the goal(s).

A striker/outfield player can win a game regardless of what a keeper does, but it doesnt work the other way.

But hey, each to their own.

A team consists of 11 players with any of them being potential match winners. It doesn't matter how you see it, this is just semantics.

If Carragher scores a goal in the last minute then he is a match winner. If Reina preserves a win for us by doing a world class save in the last minute then he is a match winner.

FFS guys, you have to go out a bit.

I think that a keeper is totally dependent on someone else's contribution in order to contribute to a WIN, whereas an outfield player technically isnt.

But i can deal with you thinking differently to me, i'm not obsessed with forcing other people to share my view - so it's not a problem that we disagree.

                yada yada yada

Loosen up a bit. There are plenty of games we wouldn't have won without Pepe. Marseille being a prime example. You may be able to spend your time coming up with words which denigrate and belittle that, but while you were doing that. Pepe, he stuck out his leg and denied a certain goal. As a result, we WON against Marseille!!!!!!!!

                Sorry mate but

                You vs. Pepe =

                EPIC FAIL

Me vs Pepe? What on earth are you on about? Is this another one of those drunken moments of yours where you lose touch with reality?

There are plenty of games we won thanks in part to Reina's saves, but there's never been any game we've won without someone other than Reina having the decisive contribution.

Like i say though, we can go round in circles but i cant really be bothered so you think what you think, i'll think what i think and we'll both carry on breathing for a good while yet.

                        Ah, that makes sense.

Also explains his strangely clueless footballing musings

I read this and don't really understand your point. Either you are saying Reina is not a match winner or he is?

Which is it? I know what most LFC fans think. If you think otherwise then make the case, else all you all about is hot air. Because unlike you, there is not a single LFC supporter that would argue against Pepe being a match winner.

YOU seem to think he is not a) make the case or b) hang out in an area where people support LFC and a) we'll convert you or b) chop you up into small pieces which could be easily BBQ'd and passed off as "Mixed Grill".

                          Yummy!

It's pretty simple mate, we cant possibly win a match (regardless of what the goalkeeper does), unless someone scores for us.

As the keeper doesnt score, i dont consider him to be a 'match winner'.

                              Let's agree to disagree, yeah?

As good as he is, Mascherano is not a "matchwinner".

And sorry Dirk fans, neither is Kuyt.
