    Joke

Dossena...at the moment can't cross to save his life
have you ever seen degen play? He is quality and better than an ageing finnan. Only time will tell what happens to him injury wise.

Keane £20m - superb player but is he what we needed at that price?
Dossenna £8m - I can't say he is any better than Aurelio
Rieira £9m - Looks decent, lacks pace, needs games
Degen - Free - Injury prone, probably won't play much

I can't say I have been swept off my feet with any of them to be honest and I didn't think the Torres / Gerrard partnership needed breaking up. IMO we should have got Riera and my God we need a replacement for Dirk Kuyt. If Gerrad is to play in CM, I'd have played Babel next to Torres and still had a winger on the right.

It's weird, but I think Pennant would have torn Stoke a new one today.
Rash even by your standards that's a priceless comment. You act the all high and mighty on hereand talk down to everyone in your condesceding manner then you throw in a statement like that. That's up there with Sarbs "Keegans a better manager than Rafa" comment froma couple of weeks ago. Thanks lad I am still laughing out loud at that
        Dare we believe

Another bollocks thread. The Ref took 3 points off us....we did as much attacking as any team has ever attacked in the prem EVER....accept it and move the **** on.

What worries me is how a Ref makes a decision like this, i can understand a ref getting an interpretation of an on field issue wrong...but this one like the one with Pepe's goal kick a while back has seen something that didn't even happen, no offside, no foul etc, wtf are they doing, it's a hard job i know..so react to what you see don't make up imaginary offences.

That's the point....he's not playing and doesn't look like he'll play any time soon. What was the point in letting Finnan go when this guy has been injury prone for quite a few years now

Those of us who have seen Degen play would acknowledge that a one legged Finnan is better.

Cafu is how old? What has age got to do with it? Finnan is better, full stop.

Began with FC Basel 1893, making gradual progress until he was a mainstay of Christian Gross's Swiss title-winning team in 2003/04 and 2004/05; missed 2003 Swiss Cup final win v Neuchâtel Xamax FC (6-0).

Played 12 UEFA Cup games with Basel but no appearances in UEFA Champions League.

Claimed right-back berth in national team with excellent performance away to France in FIFA World Cup qualifier (0-0) – his first competitive international; kept place for remainder of qualifiers and for all four games at finals, in which Switzerland conceded no goals.

Left Basel for Dortmund in 2005; three seasons of declining fortunes with Bundesliga club; restricted to ten appearances in injury-scarred 2007/08 campaign.

For ****s sake, i can only presume that when you have seen him he has been coming back from an injury? as he has been very injury prone last couple of years. Give the bloke a chance, sounded pretty decent before injuries? no? how many times have u seen him to base your opinion that a 1 legged finnan, who himself has suffered a dramatic loss of form last yr and do you know whether he has just coming back from injuries when u saw him?

I can't quite believe we spent 8 million on Dossena.

I think Dossena is a really good player. Solid in defense and offering much more than Riise going forward. He's played a handful of matches for us and he's being criticized already.
