I think it is way too early to say that mate, JAR was a consistent player for us for a long time and dossena is a player who played in the second division of italy and then had one good season in Serie A after which we signed him.I must say I am not impressed with him.

We all know Keane is a good player but I was surprised when we signed him because we were having successs playing 4-2-3-1,also the fee was over the top imo, if you are paying 20m for a 28yr old I would expect a top quality player who will make an isntant impact and improve the team, Keane is too similar too kuyt in the way he always drops back in to midfield and is not what we needed.He will get some goals I am sure but is not a natural goal scorer, a predator like a torres or owen and is not creative enough.

I feel we are weaker in rb then last season as finnan was certainly better then arb who cant even manage to get his crosses in the box,at lb it is debatable but the player is not setting the world alight by any means,Riera looks decent for the price we payed but the right wing still remains a big problem,Kuyt can benefit the team if we are holding on to a lead or something but in terms of creating chances and scoring goals he is simply not good enough.

Degen is a ridiculous signing and we got rid of a decent right back and replaced him with someone who isn't even going to play.

Apart from some dodgy crosses, Dossena has been fine. People seem to quickly forget the good crosses he has put in BTW.

i disagree mate. He is still coming to grips with the league, and has looked alright to me. He has been left isolated in most of the games we have played, yesterday he was overlapping well with Riera, its just his crosses weren't hitting the targets....not that we had many anyway

Ah it's all fickleness. Last week Reira wasn't slow at all and showed good pace and blah blah, this week he is skillfull but slow. We may as well right off Keane, Dossena and Degan (even though he is yet to play for us).
We will see what the moods like next week, will Dossena be the new Carlos? Will Reira be quick enough again? Will Keane be the new Torres?

The reason why I used the Cafu example was to prove that age means **** all especially at full back - Finnan is better than both Arbeloa and Degen.

I doubt Cafu would have done as well in the Premiership later on in his career, not to many fbs of Finnans age playing in the premiership.

Finnan has faded....not as badly as Degen. The guy gets injured without even playing a game. I'm sure Finnan would have done a better job than what he has done so far. Or do you disagree with that as well? Inhibits our style of play? Don't make me laugh
