OK - my two-penn'orth

Keane - class. Wouldn't have paid £20m for him myself, probably more like £15m, but he will come good. No risk, a good purchase. He's already playing well for the team, and tends to score in bunches like Owen used to.

Dossena - to me he looks like he could be a decent signing. He might not be any better than Aurelio, but given the fact that Aurelio is more injury prone than the ******* lovechild of Darren Anderton and Bryan Robson, he is a useful addition to the squad at under £10m

Riera - I don't want to over-hype him, but I've been very, very impressed with him so far. He could be a fantastic signing if he lives up to his early promise

Degen - I think he's just someone who is probably worth £3-4m and was available for nothing. It's a no risk gamble. Too early to tell whether he'll be any good, but even if he isn't we are OK at right-back and will get a few million if we ship him on next summer.

So I'm pretty happy at the moment, all things considered. Hope Riera keeps up the good work, that Dossena builds on an OK start, and that Keane gets one sooner rather than later.

I'm sure with the amount of money given we would all have signed different players. I agree with Rashid in that I would have signed players to fit the system that worked well last season.

But we will only know if Rafa was right at the end of the season. It's not even worth debating. A famous example is the criticism Houllier got for signing Gary Mac. I couldn't believe it at the time, nor could anyone else I spoke to. But we were all proved wrong. Goes to show really doesn't it?

Harvey does have a point, and his description of your posting style is pretty accurate, cuntish to say the least in that you are a kneejerk fan (of which club i have yet to work out, but it certainly doesn't seem like Liverpool) and will use baseless arguments on a repetitive basis even when they have been pulled apart time and time again...yes yes, run along and report me too.

I can't say I have been swept off my feet with any of them to be honest and I didn't think the Torres / Gerrard partnership needed breaking up. IMO we should have got Riera and my God we need a replacement for Dirk Kuyt. If Gerrad is to play in CM, I'd have played Babel next to Torres and still had a winger on the right.

This is a site for Liverpool fans, and only the minority of them feel as vehemenently as you do about things, so after a while those that don't will get sick an tired of reading the same vitriolic posts from the same 3 or 4 people, and will start to respond. Matter of fact; whine as you want, moan as you want, cry as you want, persist as you want, you ain't gonna change anything because you don't have the power to. This gives you two options, which I will list below:

• Start supporting the club, including our manager and the players and refrain on the knee jerk comments. This will lower your blood pressure and minimize the risk of a severe depression. If you want to criticize well do it in a manner which make name calling onto you a miss.
