No but it's funny when Rafa gets it wrong and people are quick to criticize.

Yet they seem to possess a better judgment on players.

I remember a lot of people saying Torres wouldn't make it here because they heard rumours that Rafa didn't think he had what it takes to cut it in the Prem

Arshavin is a quality player. Quality players make it in any league eventually

Morientes was a world class player but never made it here. Sergei Rebrov likewise ... Shevchenko, the list goes on.

        Argument won and case dismissed.

We did - Keane, Riera, Cavalieri, Dossena, Degen!!!

Keane is quality and will come good.
I can't believe anyone with any sense is questioning him
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

In some cases though, their judgement HAS proved better. I'm sure plenty of people thought Pennant wouldnt be good enough, for example. So in some cases, the manager's got it wrong and fans have said at the beginning that it would be a mistake to sign that player.

None of those three were world class when they came into english football. Morientes and Shevchenko were on a downward spiral and Rebrov's never been world class in his life.

                  So dismissive

Morientes has never been world class. He was Raul's mate....nothing more than a good player....never a great one. Rebrov.....good partner for Shevchenko....not world class

Shevchenko......was on the downward slope when he came here

I can remember quite a few occasions where that was the case

Personally I think you're wrong. He's been one of the best 'number 9s' of the modern era. Had he worked out, we would've been playing 4-2-3-1 a lot earlier than we have been

Morientes was world class, sheva too, even though his age was against him.

Who cares, we have who we have and we have to make do with them.

                          seriously????

sheva WAS world class when he arrived here and defo not on a downward spiral. Morientes was also considered to be one of the best strikers in the european game when he signed....so prob world class. rebrov at kiev was chased by barca, milan, arsenal before he blew it and signed on at spurs. he was again one of europes most feared strikers and some could consider him a world class player too at the time.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.
