The Railwaymen have prepared well for the game and Holland even took his squad on the Anfield stadium tour last week.
"Liverpool can be a daunting experience so I took the whole of the squad to Anfield to do the tour," he added.
"I didn't anticipate we would have a lot of players with experience of playing at Anfield, but what I didn't realise was that the vast majority here never even been there.
"So we got it out of the way. We took all the photographs, we let the jaws hit the running track when we went down the tunnel and touched the 'This is Anfield' sign and we did the tourist bit.
"Perhaps that will stop the 'rabbit in the headlights' effect on the night."
Plessis and Lucas, interesting. Eitehr Lucas will play more of a free role than he has to date, which would be interesting to watch, or we'll have 2 **** DMs in the middle of the park.
No way do we need two DMs against Crewe at home. Lucas will hopefully be allowed to express himself.
While I think a defensive midfielder is a fine description for Plessis I would argue that it is merely lazy when describing Lucas even when he has played deep. I would say it is an equally poor description of Alonso.
I also think that the two deep lying midfielders being an inherently defensive tactic is also flawed. To my mind it should be view as a refinement of the Rinus Michel level 3 tactic where a dominant team looks to release one of it's defenders and defend with three from a selection of the back four. In a 4-2-3-1 or related 4-4-2 formations then you simply look at it as a back 6 from which when dominant you release 3 - this allows you to free both fullbacks or even centrebacks at various times and leave an acceptable defense. The added flexibility means that an intelligent team can adapt more easily to different situations and should be better able to deal with counter attacks while sacrificing nothing in attack.
