If we can sustain this level of results, we'll be there.
Barring the first season, I think we have been the same every season under Rafa, there hasn't been progression or stagnation in style of play or general results - where we have improved is in the players that we now have are of better quality than in 2005. IMO.

Where are we right now in terms of the league table? You see things because you're negative and have pre-conceived (and ill conceived) ideas about Rafa. How could we have been the same when every season we've been competing against teams so called 'better' than us. There must be some faulty logic here don't you think?????

I had a dream last night that I visited Everton's treaining ground. It was a scrubby rec littered with broken bottles and stones. They were all continuously smoking fags and had to take a break to allow a posse of teenage mums to have a pram race across the pitch. At this point Moyes pulled out a huge bottle of whisky and the whole team, still dressed in training gear, started swigging from it. Then I woke up. Laughing.

You either have a subliminal obsession with Everton or teenage mums

Slightly disagree as if Evans had been backed by the board like Houllier had, Evans would have won the title.

A splendid performance. I thought we were better than most of the write ups in the press I have seen have indicated. We controlled the first half very well and then added a bit more fire, urgency and cutting edge in the second.

I thought Kuyt played very well. He is limited as a right winger and I'm especially not a fan of the Kuyt/Arbeloa combination on the right (they often seem to bring the worst out of one another) but he kept the ball moving well enough yesterday. His movement (albeit centrally) was key to both goals (although a coaching hint to Everton, you probably don't need two men on Kuyt at the expense of leaving Torres free ).

Keane didn't get in Gerrard or Torres's way at any point which is a move in the right direction for sure. Nice assist too.

We were solid at the back and Alonso moved the ball out from deep with precision and invention. We even broke with pace once or twice.

I struggle to find anyone or anything to criticise. The only thing of note to worry about was how bad the combined defensive positioning of Riera and Dossena was on the rare occasions Everton attacked on that side. Still it was a minor quibble and both did well enough to keep Everton back that it mattered little.

Evans Net spend £6.7m a season (at a time when Newcastle were paying £15m for Shearer)

Houllier net spend £11m a season (at a time when Ferguson was spending £30m on Ferdinand and £28m on Veron)

Rafa net spend £20m a season (at a time when United are paying £30m for Berbatov)

All LFC managers look slightly at a disadvantage but Rafa has had more money even taking into account inflation (NET) than any manager in our history.

So I agree, if Evans had more money he would have had a far better go at the league.

The main problem Evans had as a manager was that his back line was weak at best. Our midfield and attack was superb and we played some fantastic football but our defense alway let us down. The only one i would call a good defender was Rob jones and mark wright. The rest were not up to sratch.

Were we top of the league, won 4 out of 6, beaten two of our fiercest rivals and one of them which are 'supposedly' superior to us ??

                          You're a freak Rashid.

Rafa has had more money but he's still playing second fiddle to manure and chelsea in terms of spending.

Lets not go there as you are quite obviously not informed and it will just be going over old ground.

Your supposed 'facts' have been proved wrong time and again. When did Rafa had the money to buy a player in excess of £30m ?????

He's had to sell to buy players whereas Manure and Chelsea and even Man. City have been spending without looking back.
