    LFC Autobiographies

I've read a few in the last couple of years. The latest, "Carra" is far and away the best. Its readable, thoughtful and interesting. He has a balanced point of view, understanding the owners and management perspective, but not afraid to make criticisms. A big contrast to Robbie's autobiography which became very tedious with its constantly reiterated lovable scallywag, "not bad for a lad from Toxteth" theme.
Stevie's was somewhere in the middle. Not that bad but very easy to put down.
I would be very surprised if Carra does not become a manager after he retires (probably Liverpool eventually).
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Most of these autobiographies tend to be ****e with most of them poorly written imo.

Carra's and dare i say Roy Keane's one stand out for me.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long

Tony Cascarino's was pretty interesting, but I have to say that Paul McGrath's was the best I've read........frightening!!

Any autobiography written before a player has retired is bound to be ****e. Surely it cant be a true account. If Carra or Stevie thought Rafa was a complete cunt do you honestly reckon they would say this about their boss?

Have you read Carragher's ? Don't think it would be much different if he waited a few years.

Yes i have read Carra's. It is honest but he is still restricting himself. For example if Lucas Niell was Liverpool manager would he have told that story about him?

True. But he does launch some blunt opinions on Rafa, G&H and others. But he does hold back when it comes to kuyt I think. So guess you're right to some extent, but it doesn't make the book ****e though.

Maybe ****e was too harsher word but i seriousley cant understand why players write books whilst still playing - it will never be a completley honest account.

                      Do they need the money?

No, they obviously don't need the money, but my guess is that the publishers need them, so they want the books out while the players are still playing.
The players mostly want to be heard I think.

All current players autobiographies pale in comparison to Tommy Smith's. It's the best I have ever read.
