In the first half we gave the ball away too much, and were harried out of it by an incredibly hard-working Wigan side. In the second half we started to play well and hang onto the ball better, and you could see Wigan getting more and more desperate with their defending in the build up to the sending off. Who knows though, they might have managed to hang on to at least a point if Valencia hadn't been so stupid.

Great fighting spirit from us again to come back and win. We still need to find a left back on this evidence.
Long term maybe you're right but I like Aurelio a lot and although Dossena hasn't looked the part yet he's still only played a handful of games.

The other full back slot should be the priority IMO.

Having just seen match of the day, I might have been a bit harsh on Dossena. I thought he was abysmal for allowing the cross in for their second goal when I was at the game, but it looks like it was a bit of a lucky ricochet off Agger that flat footed him and allowed Valencia in, after he'd done the right thing initially in forcing him out to the touchline.

I really like Aurelio too, but he's obviously from the Harry Kewell, Chris Kirkland, and Vegard Heggem mould of Liverpool player. He's never fit. Consequently, he's hardly ever looked the part for a decent run of games, as he's always on the comeback trail. He's been pretty poor this year when he's played, but if he can find a miracle cure for his frailty I'm sure he'd be the answer for us at left-back. Failing that, I hope Dossena comes good. He's got a good cross on him, but he's looked dodgy defensively at times in every game he's played. On the other side I think Arbeloa is OK. Solid, doesn't make too many costly mistakes, might not be as good as Finnan was, but he's younger and has a bit more variety to his game.

Watched the whole game , and Dossena was awful , really need Aurelio fit, his defending is very bad , hope he comes good but no sure he is good enough

On a positive note , Riera is fitting in really well , skillful , scores goals and tackles back , if he keeps it up we could have a great player

Kuyt is starting to come good aswell and is in good form hope it continues,

Bring on Chelsea, hopefully Torres is fit but even having Babel and Masherano back would be a good help,

          Come on you Reds !!!!!!!!!!

I've been impressed with Arbeloa in general this season, he's always willing to support his winger and has a reasonable cross on him, along with being decent defensively.

Dossena, hopefully, is just taking a while to bed into English football. A lot of foreign players do take time, especially defenders, and I do think there's a player in there somewhere. However, at the moment, if he could only just stay fit, Aurelio would start almost every time at LB for me.

Really? I've yet to see one of his crosses not get blocked by the defender that's marking him

Errrr, now then, I might be completely wrong, but I'm pretty sure he's got a couple of assists already this season.

After watching the game earlier, I have just watched the highlights package again. Our first goal, very reminiscent of earlier Liverpool sides, where the commentators are noting that our Centre back is actually onside in an attacking position (and not from a set piece).

I don't want to get carried away but that was Hansonesque. Well done Agger.

Great result today. I was a defeatist at half time due to one fact. I didn't believe we could constantly keep turning these type of games around.

So many times last season I saw us leak points to teams like this and every time the site would go into meltdown claiming that the title was lost before christmas.

After watching Chelsea maul Boro to death, the pressure for a win was more intense. I just thought if we blow this, then we are going to slide away from the top again. AGAIN!! The abscence of Torres and Babbel didn't do much for my hopes in our attacking quarter. Keane and Kuyt had to do it for the club.

Yet another roller coaster ride. Typical that our two main rivals breeze through their games and yet we need Xabi "Red Card" Alonso to come good again, ha ha.

But really. We are passing every test so far and we are showing all the signs of a title winning team. If not champions, we are looking like we are going to fight all the way.

Another fantastic come back, no Torres 3 goals and 3 points. It's obvious we haven't even hit top form yet. Can't wait till we do.

I think in consecutive league games too.
Xabi Thinking about it like that, it really is strange. But good to see that Xabi is really getting stuck in this season

Perhaps, BUT Petr Ceck is out, Bollocks is out, Carvalho is out, Essien is out, Cashley is doubtful and Dogbreath is out too so lets ****ing make the most of this opportunity and finish their unbeaten home record. Chelsea were nothing special today, Boro were just real bad.

Oh we can definitely beat them but I wouldn't lose a moments sleep if we picked up a point there. Not a problem IMO. 20 points out of a possible 24 is ****ing superb so far and we're well set. I know it's all about points but I want us to stay unbeaten for as long as possible too. A draw there would be fine, just like the draw at Villa was IMO.

I'd say that was the turning point, the changes Rafa made in that game and they way we were happy with a draw have gone out the window since then.
