I wouldn't mind, he is quite versatile and better (certainly currently) than Harry.

He has played on the right for Chelski, switching sides with Robben at regular intervals, and if Rafa is thinking of a 4-3-3 formation at times he would be perfect. I'm sure that 12 months ago everyone was heralding Mark Gonzalez as a player who can play on both wings, so is this true? Left footers playing on the right can cut inside to great effect, but we'll obviously miss out on the crosses which Crouch strives on

    Apparantly Spurs bid
    HOT CANCER.

Always thought he was a United fan myself. Could be wrong though.

Dufster would be a better option than Kewell on the left - I just can't see chelski selling him to us. Don't see it - esp. with his injury record......

Well if Sky Sports are right they've agreed to let him speak to us.

Does that then mean that we have had a bid accepted?

I don't know, this is all going off what hasbeen posted on forums (that we've had a bid accepted).

Letting a player speak to us doesn't necessarily mean that we've had a bid accepted, but we're close to having one accepted or Chelsea think we might soon.

He had his chance and opted for the money - he'll do the same this time when the Barcodes offer him more. Anyway, we don't need him - he'd be a waste of money.

v unfair on duff if you ask me.

why do you say he opted for the money? chelsea offered 17M for him, noone else did, so the only club he could have gone to was chelsea. And im sure he went there to win trophies, which he did, 2 league titles in fact.

                            Seems its now on NewsNow:

                            From ShanklyGates:
Liverpool set to hold Duff talks

                            By James Carroll
                            Date: 21/7/2006

Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chelsea winger Damien Duff. Sky Sports reports that the London club have given the Irish international permission to speak with the Reds along with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Duff has requested to leave Stamford Bridge due to a lack of first team football and it was thought that Newcastle were set to trump Spurs to the former Blackburn forward's signature.

However, Sky Sports have announced this afternoon that Liverpool have been given permission to speak to the 27-year-old and his advisors.

The Irishman did not train with Chelsea today and it's rumoured that he has already spoken to Newcastle.

Liverpool were on the brink of signing Duff under former boss Gerard Houllier until Chelsea blew the Reds advances out of the water with an over-priced

It wasn't him opting for the money - Blackburn had a massive transfer-trigger clause in his contract and we couldn't meet it. Of course if, a year previously, Houllier hadn't pissed
