Same, someone on KT said it was probably Newcastle saying we were interested to look like they "beat" us to a player .

But where do they find the money for these players?

And has Duff been bought to keep Little Mickey Owen company on the treatment table?

I doubt we were seriously in for, as we do have plenty of LW options.

Of well, all the best for Duff, but Newcastle aren't going to be challenging anybody. Apart from Fulham for position 17 on the premiership table.

Who said he's not mercenary?? Has he joined the Barcodes to aid his career development and play in the CL? Nah, I think money probably had a little bit to do with it!! They are probably the only club daft enough to match Chelski's wage, because you can bet he hasn't taken a wage cut to go there - maybe that's why Parker went there as well!

Parker certainly didn't take a wage cut, if anything he got a bit extra out of Newcastle.

Ok, so the support is good and the stadium holds a lot too. But that isn't reason enough to go there....

Think you misread my post - I didn't say Parker had taken a wage - cut to go there.

if you're a player with ambitions of winning trophies then regardless of the money earned or the size of stadium you wouldn't go to newcastle.

their fan base is huge and they do have an excellent support but if i was a proffesional player one meeting with freddy shephard would be enough to put me off.

I think I phrased my post incorrect. I was agreeing with you, that Parker didn't take a wage cut.

...but he's now Captain, so it's all worthwhile....

OK, I'm usually the last person on Earth to fall into that almost unique category of Liverpool fan: the deranged paranoiac.

HOWEVER, this whole thing is fcuking bizarre.

Start a new thread about that mate as this one is about Duff and your post probably won't get noticed!
