Even if this story isnt true, i think there's an issue with his hamstring. He doesnt seem like he's happy to be sprinting at full pelt, seems like he's too scared to risk it.

If this proves to be a recurring problem, it'll be devastating.

Agree with all of that except I did think the last 2 outings (incl Spain) were signs of things getting better. Did not see the game last night, watching it now (1/2 time). He is not 100%, even in the 2 games he moved better for me he was only 85%.

I too am concerned cos he hardly missed for Atletico apparantly.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Yup its always a bit of a worry with a player with so much pace, would like to see him benched and give him a few 20-30 minute run outs first.

Alas, it's in the unofficial LFC mouthpiece, The Echo.

Fingers crossed this isn't going to be a recurring problem for the lad. We realy need him firing on all cylinders to maintain our challenge.

Fresh injury fear for Fernando Torres - Liverpool FC latest

Nov 27 2008 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo
                Fernando Torres

                Fernando Torres 160

LIVERPOOL were today sweating on the fitness of Fernando Torres and Fabio Aurelio after both suffered injury scares in last night’s 1-0 over Marseille.

Torres reported tightness in his hamstring straight after the game and was being assessed at Melwood this morning before a diagnosis can be made by Liverpool’s medical staff.

The Reds record signing has been plagued by hamstring problems over the last 12 months and Rafa Benitez will be hoping Torres is not about to face another spell on the sidelines.

In his most recent lay-off, Torres was forced to miss six Liverpool games after sustaining his third hamstring injury while on international duty with Spain.

Benitez has since held discussions with the Spanish FA about taking measures to stop the problem flaring up and the Reds boss will be concerned that after returning to action less than three weeks ago the 24-year-old has again suffered hamstring discomfort.

Torres was able to complete the 90 minutes against Marseille, but team mate Aurelio was forced off at half time with a recurrence of a calf injury.

The Brazilian left back was replaced by Andrea Dossena after the ongoing problem flared up again during the first half.

Aurelio was today undergoing a scan to assess the extent of the damage. but is hopeful that it is not too serious.

He told the ECHO: “I have a problem with my calf, I felt it during the first half so it was better that I came off.

“I will now have a scan to see what the gravity of the injury is.”
                Reece, get off my wife.:whatever:

Either we get this injury sorted once and for all, or our title bid is over.

I agree. We have a decent run now it has to be fixed or it won't be IMO. I follow Aussie Rules, have done since i can remember, and hamstrings are very prevelant. You simply cannot rush a player back, simple as.

Not saying we did, just that we can't and have to get this right. Now.

hmm, defo didnt rush him back to quickly but I wonder if it maybe some sort of ergonomical problem with him. I remember Owen was diagnosed with having an ergonomical problem by Dr Muller when his hamstrings kept going. Am sure it was something to do with the car seat!
