I think it's to early to think of Owen type scenarios. Always a danger when coming back that a player could get another twinge. If, after five or so 90 minutes games he gets the same injury then we need to worry.

And we dont have Crouch to retain possession up there either.

Suddenly games like Blackburn away dont look so winnable

Even games at home to Hull, without the Torres spark, will be tricky if we continue toiling.

              Clearly. (As Rafa would say).

What we need is for someone else to step up their game. I'm thinking Keane and Babel here.

will he miss the arsenal game?

if we can't beat the likes of hull without torres then as far as i'm concerned it proves that we spent poorly in the summer.

gutted for the lad, hope we can get this sorted but i'm not panicking and thinking its owen all over again just yet.

                    Wasn't Spains fault this one

It all adds up. An extra weeks rest would have been better for Fernando rather than fly him out to play in a pointless friendly

You're scraping the bottom of the barrel for excuses there V

Id say he most probably wasn't quite 100%, playing two 90 minute games in the space of 5 days. He should have been given a small run at the end of the Fulham game. Then started this and taken off after 60. IMO

You can't rush hamstrings, and you can't just jump straight back into action. You need to ease into it.

The one plus i can see is that its a 'strain' rather than a 'tear'. Strains are much easier and quicker to heal

I say give him a good rest until the new year. No point in continuously rushing him back only for the injury to reoccur.

And if he needs someone to massage his hamstring.....

I think he will be back for the Arse game, he has to. Keane to start that game with Torres ripping them into shreds in the last half hour like how Rafa played it in the league against them last season but we didn't score.

                                Crouch scored a beauty mate.
