    Alonso

Liverpool fans have known it for years but now it's official - Xabi Alonso is English football's pass master.
The midfielder became the first Premier League player to complete 1,000 successful passes during 2008-09 against Blackburn.

Opta stats show Alonso has hit 1,005 accurate passes this term, creating 26 goalscoring chances in the process.

Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel is second with 957 successful passes and 12 chances created.

Next comes Arsenal's Denilson (922 and 27), followed by Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard (901 and 48).

Class player, playing brilliantly this season. Thank goodness we kept him - eh fredo?

Been our best player this season.

It just shows the atitude of the guy that we tried to sell him in the summer but that's just made him come back stronger.

    Fantastic player.

Wow I didn't realise Chelsea had so many opportunities from long balls to Anelka and Drogba.

defo, it was just madness to think Barry could have replaced him.

i have said all along that as soon as xabi was allowed to play in the middle with mascher it would allow him to get back to being more offensive. he spent a long time playing as the defensive midfielder with stevie running forward.

his passing is amazing when he is allowed to get forward and pick his passes out and he still manages to get back all the time and help out with the defending.
                in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

Great to see him back to his best, I hope if the stories of him and Rafa having a bust up are true they have it sorted now. The man is pure class and so happy he has proved my doubts wrong.

                    Never ever doubted him.

The best is still to come from him as well. I think he is so focussed on us winning the title this year and his attitude has been an example to all.

While Alonso has been excellent the stats for Denilson are a huge surprise to me and they seem to back up my feeling that Lampard has been having a splendid season too.

Lampard is fantastic for Chelsea every year. I would say he has been in and out of form this year though, in comparison to years gone by. Denilsons form has also been patchy, but he has justified Wengers faith in him and should become a top player.

Xabi Alonso has just been awesome. Still think he can get better, but he is one player whose form depends on the ones in front of him making space. Torres will thrive when he comes back regularly if Alonso can maintain this form.
                          Forwards.......

Take a deep breath mate, and consider the following:

                            Were you....wrong?
