Fredo, what I said is that rotation is okay, as long as you aren't rotating your best players for no reason. What I also just said is that maybe part of the reason why we finish the season so strongly in the past is because the likes of Gerrard and Torres have been fresher because of earlier rotations. That said we've been out of the title race by March anyway.

My point is that there is no guarantee that we'll finish the season as strongly this season as we have done in past seasons because I don't think Gerrard and our key players have been rested as much in the first half of the season

There is no guarantee for anything even for your so called realism.

But he, I tend to see the brighter side of things whilst you obviously don't. Expect to suffer from bad depression as you grow old mate.

Gerrard has missed a good few games due to injury this season - I'd be very surprised to find out that he's played a good deal more this season than previous ones.

Rafa has rotated a lot this season - it seems people don't notice it as much when we are winning.

Fredo, no offence like but I hope I don't suffer from bad depression later in life. To be honest, I used to get more depressed when I took LFC a lot more seriously than I do now. There are more important things in life than football though and to be honest I'm a lot happier for it.

It may not come across it on these forums, but hey I'm just commenting on the club the way I see things. I'd get more depressed if I thought we could actually win the title and we were messing up.

However, realistically I know we aren't ever going to win the title under Rafa because he doesn't have the right mentality to win the Prem. That's not a negative viewpoint, just my viewpoint. He must have something about him if the likes of Gerrard and Torres tell us he's the best manager they've played under. I just don't think his style of management fits in with what is required to win the Premiership.

Hey, we could have been 8 points clear at the top but we aren't. No big deal. When it comes to the crunch, I don't think we'll be first anyway and those dropped points will come back to haunt us. Am I depressed about it....no!

FFS I've been following Liverpool for around 20 years, I've grown used to not winning the league, so I don't get depressed by bad results against relegation fodder.....I'm used to it, just like a lot of fans are.

The same fans who chanted names of mediocre players like Heskey and treated them like heroes, the same fans who chant Rafa's name even though he's done nothing of note in the Premiership

He moans every summer about no money, but spends £31m on attacking players who don't even fit his system. In any other job he'd be sacked.

Even though he has won a lot of money in Europe and has demonstrably improved out league form this year? I really don't think the case for him to be sacked would stack up in many places. We shall see how the summers signings go by the end of the season but I really don't think that in any walk of life he would be sacked without at the least seeing out the important judgment period of his decisions (i.e. the season).

From your last post Sarb I can only come to the conclusion that you want him sacked now, as you don't think he will win the Premier League title this year, or ever. If you truly believe that, then why keep him on any longer?

Would that be a fair assessment?

No, not a fair assessment Reggie. Football is a game of opinions and imo I don't believe he has what it takes to win us the Premiership. Saying that, I don't think we shoud sack him now. He should get this season to show what he can do and show the improvement required.

I hope he goes to prove me wrong, I really do. I want him to be given this season but he doesn't deserve an extension yet imo.

Just because I don't think he has what it takes, doesn't make it right

Sorry Sarb I wasn't having a go there, I was just asking if you think he will never win it (including this season) then you must also think what is the point of keeping him any longer. But that's obviously not the case

cant really disagree with any of that
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

In past seasons we finish strongly because we have rotated some of our better players early season and dropped points. This season, we've not rotated the likes of Gerrard nearly as much early season, so maybe they may not be able to finish as strongly from March onwards. A distinct possibility.

The return of Torres will be a big boost though. He should be fresh at that point injuries permitting
Well you cant have it both ways.

I think it's better not to rest them in the early stages, build up a lead and then in the latter stages of the league, you're in a position to win it so adrenalin and passion drives you through the remainder of the games.

If we'd been 9 points clear now, as we should be, this theory would be set up nicely.

He hasnt rotated anywhere NEAR as much as last season.

First 9 games this season - 14 unenforced changes.

                                That's the facts mate.
