i am all of us are disappointed we did not beat the so-call lesser teams and go 8 pts clear at this stage. But at the end of the day, whatever you think of the team, Rafa, etc, we all hope and desire 1 common goal which is the league title. So as fans, let's bloody do our part and support the team rather than putting them under additional pressure when the play at Anfield with all the moanings and booing.
    We going to win #19th!!

Why is it moaning to say you should have beaten the likes of Fulham, Stoke and Hull at home?

Don't get it personally. Fair enough, some people think it's not that bad and I can in part see their point of view. But to come on and start trying to justify poor results by saying we need to respect weaker teams is a bit poor imo.

We need to be hammering these teams and we should have hammered them for all our possession. And to be honest with a bit more ambition we could have hammered them. This conversation will probably come up again in a few months time or at the end of the season.

It's disappointing that we've ended up drawing the likes of Stoke at home when you think we could have been quite a few points clear now. I see it as a big missed opportunity and with the other teams doing so poorly I believe it was a genuine chance to make huge inroads into winning the League again after so many years. We've missed that opportunity

Sure we have missed opportunities but so have the other teams ... West Ham just held Chelsea to a Draw .. a game were Chelsea knew all 3 other teams drew at the weekend a game which would have put them top .. playing were they have only been beaten once in something like 3 years .. by us might I add this season..

I know Chelsea have not played Fulham home or away this season .. but I am guessing they will possibly drop points to them this season ..

We are in the driving seat in the Lg and we are in the Driving seat in the Mini Lg so whats not to like ...

i am not suggesting that it is ok to lose to them, i'm sure all the fans expected us to beat them. but football does not always happen like that. otherwise, let's just have a mini league of the top 4 since the top side shld always beat the lesser teams.

when we won the champs league in 2005, i'm sure Milan or Chelski would have expected to beat us if we based everything on paper.

this is what makes football exciting and frustrating at the same time.
            We going to win #19th!!

Who said we shouldn't? I think almost every single person here who post regularly had a type of moan about the fact we did not win.

This is where for some bizarre reason you just don't understand what some of us are saying. I am not justifying poor results at all - I am just saying that in these types of games it is wrong to take the result for granted as it is a very competitive league - so the opponent must be respected to the extent that we field our strongest team for example. WTF is wrong with that???

Agreed. But for a bit of bad luck we should have beaten WHU and Hull. I agree that the substitutions v Hull were a bit weird but who knows what goes on behind the scenes. There is undoubtedly a reason for not playing Keane.

We've missed that opportunity

Rafa sees it as a big missed opportunity, the players see it as a big missed opportunity, and the fans see it as a big missed opportunity. There is a pattern here. On another day we could have won those games as I said above, but you know it is still quite amazing that we are the top team in England right now.

A bit cliched I know, but there is just way too much ****in doom and gloom on here.

When it goes onto the 4th day of the same thing it does come across as moaning. I doubt women could match many of the posters on here with going over the same thing day in day out.

You would never know we are top of the lg .. if it is not one thing its another ... this site is always always predominatly full of moaners regardless of the situation ... as soon as one thing clears up they quickly move onto the next moan ...

Real Madrid and AC Milan probably wont win their respective leagues either mate.

Nobody's saying it doesnt happen, but nearly half the time is excessive and not good enough. Unless you think failing to win roughly half our home games is good enough?

Like i said in another thread mate, there'll always be an excuse.

It's what we're about sadly. Whatever poor results we have, we always find some kind of excuse.

Have to read my various posts about home form of title winning teams ?.. sure its not ideal and we cant afford to drop many more points at home granted .. But i put to you this season .. the top teams will drop more points at home since the prem started

if it is as simple as this, then during the Houllier days, the likes of Manure, Arse or Barca should have hammered us for all the possession and dominance they had over us. But in the end, we did come away with a result by the odd goal or penalty.

I think kewellnthegang is missing the point. We respect teams when they've done a good job beating us or managed to get a draw but the commitment of our players in trying to beat them or 'murder them' should remain intact.

So do you disagree with what I said? I don't see it as an excuse but as context in which the facts of poor home form needs to be seen.

I really don't see what you gain by accusing people of making excuses.
