Mentioned at he end of the pennant article in the Echo

Time for Darby to get his chance or Carra to step in.

lol I just read the title of that article, didn't realise it was April 1st already!

It should definitely be Darby's chance to shine but I wouldn't put money on it happening.

Two rookie full backs (assuming Insua keeps his place) is risky though, especially against this lot where they just put Kevin "Elbows" Davies on your smallest defender and have him smash **** out of him for 90mins.

Hyypia i'd imagine was nailed on to play against these anyway so will just be the same defence as at the Reebok if Aurelio is fit, if not then Insua.

Thats why I wouldn't put money on it mate.

From the little I've seen of him he'd seem a better bet than Carra to be able to bomb forward and with the possible shield of Kuyt and Mascherano/Lucas I think he would come through it okay.

Still, I think it was the last Bolton game when Darby was really in contention and Carra got shunted out wide that day so I'll be expecting to see the same again.

Yeah I like Darby, theres always a little extra buzz about the match aswell when a youngun is starting, you could see the away fans on Sunday going crazy with applause and that when Insua went over to take a throw in.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, it's something a bit different from the 'norm' to get the crowd interested.

It'd be a bold move but at the risk of moving this thread in a completely different direction, throwing a bit of caution to the wind could be exactly whats needed - get an early goal against Bolton and we could blow them away.

We have a habit of playing Carra at right-back against Bolton and adding Hyppia into the middle to deal with Bolton's aerial ability. That ofcourse will happen IF Arbeloa is not fit

i like boxing day games. crisp winter air, stomach overfull with food.

early goal will settle the crowd, we've dropped too many points at home lately and bolton is a huge game for us. win comfotably and it'll set us up for a good xmas period

I think that is probably the sensible solution. Give Darby the chance in the second half if we can.

As I forgot the Newcastle game just 2 days later then Darby might well get a game in one of them (probably Newcastle at a guess), Skrtel has only just joined first team training again so obviously wont be thrown straight into a league game, and Sami says himself he struggles with games every 3 days let alone 2!
