i have a couple of friends who work as physios and they reckon that as far as coming back from a hamstring injury is concerned, it is far better to start a game then come off after 30 minutes than to sit on the bench, cool down then come on and risk aggrevating it. if he is fit enough to play against preston then he is fit enough to play. we can all talk about potential banana skins and every single game needs to be treated like one. plus, we really need to improve our goal difference.

No manager in the prem plays a player for 30 minutes, then pulls them off. What your physio friends say makes common sense but probably gets in the way of tactical game-planning.

Why hasn't technology improved so Torres can wear some of his kit which keeps his legs warm throughout on the bench? Even an electric blanket wrapped around would make sense. No?

torres off the bench for me. i'd give him another game off the bench to make sure the hamstring handles it ok. babel from bench as well ahead of el zhar and ngog. skrtel on bench too as hyypia has done a good job of late and we dont need him as stoke only play one up top.
