Word is on another site that real madrid (ramos) has had a 15m bid turned down for keane.
Somehow i wouldnt be too sure about that one!
Probably a guess. He did well under Ramos so you could gamble and get it right.
I like Keane as a player, but £19m was to much for him and If Rafa isn't willing to play him for 90 minutes in his corect position, then we would be best selling him for as much as we can.
January is always the best time to sell a player in terms of recouping cash, so it would suit all persons if we did a deal now. A player like Michael Owen on the cheap would provide us with a replacement for Keane, and still plenty of cash for the RW we need.
Interestingly it seems that 'Arry is trying to snap up all the players Spurs sold recently. Having already got Defoe back it appears he now has a deal for Pascal Chimbonda. What odds on Keane going back?

15 m plus Sturridge. He looks like a quality player. I think Richards can provide good competition for the RB position.
Sturridge will be a cracing player, but we have enough young strikers coming through who look the part. We need the real deal to challenge for the title. A choice of N'Gog or Sturridge to cover for Torres does not fill me with confidence.
Michael Owen does, and he's eligible for the Champions League and available at a knockdown fee of about £4m. And we all know he would settle no problems and is a more than capable finisher. And of course Owen was trained at the club so that would help in terms of the Champions League squad.
I'd be interested in taking Richards who looks to be an excellent prospect at Centre Back and already a quality Right Back. Another English player giving more room for manouvere in the Champions League squad.
So an offer of £10m plus Micah Richards would be very tempting. £4m on Owen and maybe £6m on Kuba.
Also if keane is sold to city,, it will not all be just down to his poor form, 60% of it will be down to his piss poor attitude, Rafa hates that with a passion in a player and he is right because when other players see that it can change mentalities, leaves a poor taste. Perhaps the team would galvanize more as a unit if he was not here.
Its a pitty really because i thought he would make it here, he only has himself to blame and should have known that you dont get second chances at this level.
What a load of bollix. It will be down to Rafa treating Keane apalingly.
we signed him for 20m and played him in games for 65 minutes. compare that to how Ferguson nurtured Berbatov. And how the player has responeds by scoring 3 point goals in the last 10 minutes. And when Robbie has been on the bench , how many times has he been given a meaningful amount of time to come on and change a game.
Compare how Keane has been treated to Kuyt
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."
Your right too, he has been treated appaulingly, Thats another side to it aswell,
It all adds up to a big mess, but who is gona go? Rafa aint,
So if he is not going to play him he has to go. who knows what rafa is thinking.
Was a bad move for robbie, hes a liverpool fan, Its not been a good experience for him.

All true, which is why Keane has to move on. Rafa clearly does not intend to use him as first choice. Better to sell and sign someone who will. Getting £20m back for him and signing the likes of Richards and possibly Owen and Renato would be a huge boost.
Obviously Rafa did not want him which is why he has stated he want more control on transfers - so this 'bridge the gap' type stuff does not happen again?
Because a replacement for Crouch he aint!
Wow, some of you are dreaming if you think we're going to get 15 mill back on him. He'll go for about 12m in my opinion, and that is without another player being thrown into the deal. Time to cut our losses.

Keane's obviously a very talented footballer so it must be his attitude shown at Rafa's decisions that's affecting his form. Like it or not Rafa calls the tune and if Keane doesn't like it he'll have to buckle down or go
Why not give him a run in the reserves and let him prove he's good enough...or is that beneath his dignity.
