I would still see him as a failed signing, for 32 million you would expect a lot more goals from him. I am not saying he wont improve but at the minute he hasnt lived up to his price tag.

The point that was being made about Berbatov was that whilst he was having a bad time of it, just like Robbie, his manager was sticking with him and leaving him on for 90 minutes, which ultimately resulted in him scoring goals in the last 10 minutes of games that won the scum 6 points at least.
Oops. I saw the word berbatov and guessed folks were making the comparison i referred to. The point you make about him getting more time than robbie is a valid one and one which i pointed out in my post earlier. It applies more to robbie than a lot of players as he seems to thrive off confidence, which he will never get if he is continually dropped even after scoring. Its mismanagement of a very valuable asset.

The big difference if you watched those games that Berbatov scored in, scum were relentless in attacking and there was chance after chance so someone of berba's quality is bound to pop up eventually and score. unfortunately our attacking most of the time is anything but relentless

          Such a pertinent point.

With the right style of football Keane could be a huge success here.

True but I remember Robbie Keane missing 5-10 very very easy chances this year, plenty of times all he had to do was make contact with the ball and it was a goal. You don't see Berbatov do that very often.

I hope we get a decent fee for him in the summer.
There might be more panic about now in January, but too little time to get a replacement.

Stranger things have happened though mate. He's also (maybe by coincidence) not cup tied as Rafa left him out of the Preston and Everton games completely.

                    He played against Preston.
But he was so poor I cannot blame you for not noticing him.

You're right he started didn't he.

I read it in the Independent article MrM posted so technically it's his fault.

                        From The Independent

"... the 28-year-old's absence from Anfield for Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton is less significant than it seemed. Any player not in the squad for the match was given Sunday off and that, rather than a personal protest, was why he did not appear. Keane would also have known that he would have become an unwelcome centre of attention had he watched the match from the stand."

We can't afford to do that. He's had enough of a chance imo and risking more points on him in the hope he'll come good is too risky.

                                Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez:
"People are talking too much about Keane. It was just one decision about one player, he wasn't in the squad.

                                Benitez tight-lipped on Keane rumours

"He had a day off on Sunday like the rest of the players who were not involved in the game. He trained on Monday, he trained today and he will be in the squad at Wigan.
"It is nothing to do with whether he talked to me about the situation. Every player has trained very hard this week, as has Robbie, and he will be in the squad.
"He will be in the squad and if he can score goals then I will be happy."
