Did you shout at the ref to disallow the goals?

He has a tendancy to drift odffside more than he should.

Keane is a different case altogether.
How is it? Keane has had performances where he has linked play very nicely and got into very good scoring positions. The mere fact that he has missed so many chances tells you that he has been in the right place at the right time. His finishing has let him down. Owen was not perfect, but we persisted with him, as we should have. He was a better player than Keane, but Crouch wasn't and isn't, and yet he was given all the support and time in the world. He went 19 games and four months without a goal. Rafa spends £20 mill on Keane and drops him and takes him off constantly. Even when he scores.

What option did we have at the time though? It may have been a different story altogether for Crouch in that period had we had the Torres/ Gerrard partnership to call on.

Keane is none of the above.

The Crouch issue is outside the remit of my point - which is the inappropriate comparison between Owen and Keane.

Owen had proven himself to be a goal machine in the Liverpool team. Subsequent dry patches were set against the fact that everyone new he could deliver the goods. Keane hasn't established this yet and there's no saying he will. Had Keane won European footballer of the year and had the world at his feet at 19, that might be a different story.

Hit him why he is down.

You're right though he has been woeful.

I'm sick and tired of people having a go at Rafa for 'dropping' RK after that game. We won 5-1 away FFS, at Newcastle where away teams have not been winning of late, so he was perfectly justified in leaving Keane out.
when we beat bolton 3-0 but he wasn't taken off

apparently rafa ripped through him after and robbie was very disillusioned. the downside to rafa's man-management style in my mind.

Or possibly the downside to Keane's lack of mental toughness.

Or possibly the criticism is a good thing but people need to get used to it?

When Rafa first came to LFC there were endless reports of Gerrard not liking criticism after playing well, recently he has learned that it has helped him and is just Rafa's way. Keane has spent a lot of his career under more protective, friendly managers like Jol and it is hardly a surprise if he is not used to Rafa's perfectionist streak.

I would certainly consider selling Keane as he isn't performing but if Rafa has faith then I think he should stay as I do think he has the potential to add something useful to the squad.

It's the number 7 shirt. It's cursed. End of.

Another number and Keane would be flying.

So I havn't been around but am genuinely interested in the fans opinion of him now?

Is he been unfairly treated, not given a proper chance or do people think he's not good enough?

I'm now starting to feel sorry for him. When the camera's on him warming up or on the bench he just looks like a lad looking out the window as his mates play football on the street but he's grounded for getting in trouble at school so he cant play too.
He must be scundered sitting on that bench when he knows he can do more damage that Kuyt, Benayoun etc. Still dont know why Rafa bought him if he's treating him like this. Leaves a bad taste.
