So we'll sell him and not get anyone in to replace him.

Then Torres will get injured again and we will be mightily ****ed.

    I wish we'd kept Crouch.

Keane was never good to lead the line anyway so it would make little difference if he started or left. Unless Benitez has lined up a replacement for numbers sake, I can see this going through on Monday morning.

We'll either bring in a RW or a striker IMO. I say sign Renato (RW) now, who we are rumoured to be signing in the summer and let Kuyt and Babel be the cover for Gerrard and Keane.

Otherwise sell Keane for Bent and the £10.3m we owe. I know many will scoff at this, and so would I. But at least the lad is fast and able to play up top on his own, which Keane clearly can not. That still also leaves the £10m for Renato too.

Another option is to look to Inter to bring in Adriano. He'd be a massive hit if he could knuckle down, though that would mean reverting to 442 which looks unlikely to happen.
        Forwards.......

We'd have to be in the middle of the process of signing someone by now.
I dont think there'll be enough time.

I could never see rafa signing Adriano, he's totally the opposite of what rafa likes.

As for Bent - he wouldnt be my first choice, but i'd take him.

He'd barely get a game though, so he probably either wouldnt come, or he'd join and then bitch about not playing.

With the lack of money, I doubt we are going for someone.

I agree with the Adriano point - Mourinho is struggling to keep him 'clean'

Bent is so low on confidence but he would do a better job than Keane in playing as a lone striker however would the pressure be too much for him? I've been vouching for Carlton Cole for some time now, Capello agrees with me.

I'd literally shed tears if we signed Carlton Cole. He's ****. And his stock is high enough right now, that he'd cost a ****ing bomb.

I'm not convinced. He's never been great but a recent run of form has seen many laud him with praise. He'd cost more than Bent who I think offers more goals and is generally the better player.

That said Cole has been promising to deliver for quite a while now and maybe this is the time.

Another point in favour of Bent is that he is not moaning about being on the bench at Spurs. And I know whose bench I would rather be sitting on.

No thanks. Another flop in the making.

It may not sound realistic, but if we need someone to come in as an attacking player, i'd go all out for Ashley Young. He can play as a forward, a second striker or a winger, and has pace to burn, takes players on, commits defenders and is quality. He'd add a totally new dimension to our side and change our attacking style overnight.

Failing that, Agbonlahor would do nicely too. Lightening quick, can play up front or on the right hand side. Either would be brilliant.

Nah, not for me. If Keane goes we either need a striker or a RW. Dos Santos is neither really, certainly not ready to play in a title chasing team.

Both good shouts, but I can't see Villa selling up at this stage of the season in the position they're in.

Totally Agree. Carlton Cole is ****, anyone who suggests we should sign him should be shot!

Nobody wants to sell their top players, but i think if the money was right, they'd sell.
