It may not sound realistic, but if we need someone to come in as an attacking player, i'd go all out for Ashley Young. He can play as a forward, a second striker or a winger, and has pace to burn, takes players on, commits defenders and is quality. He'd add a totally new dimension to our side and change our attacking style overnight.
You're right, it doesn't. I'd love to sign the lad but it's not gonna happen. Antonio Valencia at Wigan would be more realistic, but I reckon he's nailed on to be Ronaldos replacement at Man Utd in the summer.

Renato and Kuba would be two excellent options who we have been linked with.
    Forwards.......

Sometimes you can identify a nailed on solution to a serious problem in your team. Young or Agbonlahor are both example of this.

You'd have to move heaven and earth to get them, but i dont think it's as impossible as some might suggest and i think it'd be worth pursuing. Obviously we might lack the funds, but i'd happily sell 2 or 3 to get one of them.

Failing that, Agbonlahor would do nicely too. Lightening quick, can play up front or on the right hand side. Either would be brilliant.
And none would be able to play in the same manner under Benitez. He will teach them about tracking back and after a year or so, they will be playing in different positions and have no effect on the team as is Benitez with our creative players.

There might be some validity in that but to be fair, it hasnt happened with Steven Gerrard.

So Gerrard is allowed to play freely? Au contraire, mon frére. Its all controlled. Do I think he would get more goals by being unleashed? Absolutely. He would reek terror in some of these defences if it wasn't for Houllier....I mean Benitez's strings.

Controlled maybe, but he still provides an immense attacking threat.

I said a similar thing when he was at Watford. He was clearly going to be a top quality player.

You believe Ashley Young would have been developed to the same level under Benitez as he has done under O Neill? You got to be kidding me.

I thought their best chance to get above us was by beating Wigan at home yesterday. The fact they failed means it's curtains for them. Whatever todays result I expect us to go on a long winning run very soon.

The Yanks in town IMO will smooth over a few problems we are having off the field and after that we'll be fine until we get closer to the end of the season and the club for sale rumours kick in again.
                      Forwards.......

                        Did i say that?

If we signed him now, he'd still be a huge threat for us going forward.

No, as he would have been trying to get past better established players in the LFC team. It's the same probem for any young player we sign.

Again, Benitez cares more about a clean sheet rather than getting goals. In his first title haul at Valencia, the top scorer for the team got a huge seven goals. Tells you everything you need to know.

Yes that's all true, but top class players under rafa still provide a huge attacking threat. Gerrard does, Torres does...and Young would.
