Thanjk you.

Torres was dropped a few times after scoring goals for the team. Its Benitez and his wacko way of management - testing the mentality of Keane. Keane was probably moping like his usual idiotic way, flapping his arms around.
what i find kind of surprising about this thread is the amount of people who seem to have bought into some internet version of rafa's idea with keane of proving himself in 6 months in 60 mins every few games - and when the pressure is really on, prove himself in 6 mins when gerrard is taken off.
compare this this to kuyt's treatment who is endlessly indulged despite the endless amount of possession he wastes.
keane is being portrayed on here as some sort of overrated overpriced whining prima donna. all on the basis of a few high profile misses - 2 failed flicks actually which might just be the sign of a guy trying to remind himself that he is a good player with a bit of flair. robbie keane's head is not right at liverpool and he's come up against the worst possible manager in helping him through this interms of a bit of encouragement. of course all liverpool fan are now supposed to beliebve in rafa's ultra-distant non-mollycoddling attitude whereas anyone who has ever worked with any humans in even a very limited capacity knows that some people need more that just pressure to develop.
at 28 this is surprisng but maybe it says more about the club than i does about keane. i'm not out to villify rafa here but all is not well at LFC and there seems to be a lot on here looking to scapegoat keane - maybe his underperformance is a symptom, not the actual illness.
Why are you surprised by it though? Crouch used to get left out after scoring hat-tricks. Keane shouldn't be surprised and nor should you be.
I wasn't happy with the treatment of crouch either to be honest, I wanted him to start more often than not. I actually thought keane was brought in to take over the Kuyt role, same workrate and way more ability. I think he would ge good in that role.
The reason why is he's not good enough. What are your excuses for his lame performances at the start of the season? He hadn't been left out after scoring at that point. He's been consistently anonymous for us and the only person to blame for that is Robbie himself. Pity, but it's a fact.
I dont know why at all, I'm actually shocked at that as I expected him to be a big hit at LFC. maybe it's all down to preseason, he wanted so much to be a success and couldn't bag a goal in PS, so maybe was just under way to much pressure. Extra pressure and stress can make people a shadow of their former selves, i should know

Good post. Keane wanted so much to be a hit at LFC that he actually went off the gargle too for a bit!

See i don't think he has helped himself at all by doing that aswell. He should be dissapointed to be taken off, but when he trots down to the touch line shaking his head,it's disrespectful to the manager and his teamates.

That is true, and especially when it's a manager like Rafa, as we know he doesn't like that sort of thing and won't easily forget
Another I can't understand is Babel's lack of playing time. I think this guy has the credentials to be one of the best attacking players around. Raw pace and power and 2 lethal feet. An explosive weapon waiting to go off is the way I like to see him, like big Ron used to be. Yes, he's a bit rusty in his decision making etc but with playing time, he'll learn. They should let him go out on loan if he's not going to be playing much
Personally I want him to go back to spurs. For the good of Ireland in the WC qualifying.
I truly believe that would be the best solution for all.
