I agree completely, without a replacement on hand it makes no sense to sell keane. The only reason I can think of is if he is seen as a disruptive figure at anfield, but for now we are a weakened side for the rest of the games.

We should have waited until the end of the season, simple as.

How's about that he's been very poor for us since signing, that he obviously isnt going to be happy playing a bit part role, and that his value is dropping the longer we keep him??

I cant see it making too much of a difference either

I'm now just waiting for him to come out and complain how utterly terrible he's been treated whilst totally ignoring how utterly bad he's been
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Spurs are in a relegation battle and their strikers are long term injured. We have them over a barrel and, according to the Guardian, will get back everything we paid for him. Wait till the Summer we might be lucky to get half as much for him.

We'd still get £10m or £12m for him in the summer. If Torres is injured, we're ****ed, simple as. Even out of form, he's still a better striker than any other we have bar Torres.

If we have a run to make without Torres, then would you rather Kuyt/Babel/Ngog up front or Keane? Ngog has managed just one goal in his professional career (yes,1). Kuyt 8 in 45, Babel 6 in 43 and Keane 5 in 17.

Thats it, I'm all "Keane'd" out now. Still fuming, but I give up.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

I wonder what United fans would think if they just had Berbatov to rely on for the next few months?

I'd have Torres over Berbatov and Tevez put together man.Fck what those tossers think.Who really gives a fck?

Torres was out for almost 2 months don't forget and we (somehow)managed to get to the top of the league.

Keane is not good enough for a title challenging team.Move on.

Don't give up lad,too much football to be played still.

                We got away with it..

Almost our worst piece of transfer business ever but Harry Houdini comes to the rescue.

Keane was utter garbage, anonymous in 90% of the matches he played.

Ngog was deployed as a winger at PSG and not played up front so it's unfair to criticise him for only scoring 1 goal. Maybe he would have scored more had he been played in his favoured position.

Keane is quoted on the Spurs website now, although I can't get on it.

OK, Rafa is extremly happy now. Honestly, I don't know if that's right, what he done.. but ok, move on. I think Ngog is too young to be in 1st squad, babel is out of form, and torres is still 50-50 due to his injury and i won't even comment about kuyt. what's up with el zhar anyway ?!

That's unfair, 95% would be more accurate. At least he broke one record with LFC - completing the more air shots in half season than any other other player has in their whole career. It's a fact. I doubt this record will ever be broken. Good riddance.

We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for the transfer of Robbie Keane back to the Club from Liverpool. Personal terms have been agreed and a medical completed.

The Irish international captain made 254 appearances in our colours in all competitions during his first spell between August 2002 and July 2008, during which time he scored 107 goals, before leaving to join Liverpool.

"We never wanted Robbie to leave in the summer, we acknowledged the six years dedicated service he gave this Club and reluctantly let him go. I am delighted that he has chosen to return to us. We can all recall the passion and fight he displayed during his previous seasons with us. I know he is determined to give us his full commitment," said Daniel Levy, Chairman.

Robbie has this to say on his return, "It was a difficult decision to make to leave Tottenham in the summer. It proved not to be the right move for me. I know some Spurs fans will feel I let them down by leaving but I can assure them I shall be giving my all for this Club - this Club has terrific fans and I want to repay them for all their support. We've got to get on and fight our way up that league table."

The 28-year-old began his professional career with Wolverhampton Wanderers where he hit 29 goals in 88 games, before making the move to Coventry City in August 1999 for a then British record fee for a teenager.

His one season at Highfield Road brought 12 goals in 34 games and earned him a move to Inter Milan the following summer. The forward spent 18 months at the San Siro before moving back to England with Leeds United following a successful loan spell, bagging 19 goals in 56 games in total during a year-and-a-half spell at Elland Road.

The holder of 85 caps for Ireland and 35 goals, making him the Republic's all-time record scorer, returns to White Hart Lane following six months at Anfield where he scored seven goals in 28 appearances

                                Tony Barrett

ROBBIE Keane has completed a £16m move from Liverpool to Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool will now play the rest of the season with only Fernando Torres as a frontline striker.

Keane travelled to London with his agent Struan Marshall this morning and underwent a medical which he has now passed and the paperwork confirming the transfer has been registered with the FA.

The Irish international moved to Anfield from the summer for an initial fee of £19m but he has struggled to make an impact and has fallen out of favour with Reds boss Rafa Benitez.

Though Liverpool's coffers are set to be swelled by a major incoming transfer fee they have not made any signings and the Reds boss will have to make do with the squad he has for the rest of the current campaign.
                                Hmm.........

We better hope Torres does not get injured now.
                                Forwards.......
