I agree Benayoun weakened us defensively but Kuyt did well enough up front and was, it pretty much goes without saying, a massive improvement on the man he replaced. If we had been leading then I doubt he would have switched Kuyt's position but it made sense in the circumstances.

He could have changed it again sooner than he did but there was no point trying to sit back on the lead so early and I agree he brought Lucas on when necessary.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It's only a blatant pen is slow motion and replays.
I remember thinking at the time it probably was but would have been a soft one to give, put it this way we would have been livid if Webb gave the Anichibe dive as a pen.

      We drew, move on.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

It was a clear peno. The ref was poor the whole night though so it wasnt a surprise that he didnt give it.

He just didn't let the game flow at all. Any and every opportunity to give a free kick and he blew, and in plenty of cases it wasn't a free kick.

I think it was clear Moyes told his players to look for free kicks when they got within about 40 yards of our goal. Can't blame him though, it was the only way they were going to score

Thought the ref was decent enough. How many derbies actually 'flow' ?

The peno was 50/50 for me.

We got lucky with the penalty against Portsmouth at home earlier in the season to steal the 3 points. As they say, thats football for ya!

That's usally because there's a lot of hard and late tackles flying in. There was nothing like that in this game and he still blew up every twenty seconds.

Not sure what's 50/50 about running straight into the back of someone as they're in your box looking for a shooting angle.
