It was a definite penalty on the TV camera angle but I suspect it was a lot less clear cut from the referees vantage point. If there is doubt then the benefit of it has to go to the defending team wrt penalties IMO.

Not sure what's 50/50 about running straight into the back of someone as they're in your box looking for a shooting angle.
      It's a contact sport fella.

If it was a pen, so was Skrtel's on Anichebe.

So why aren't defenders doing forearm smashes and knee drops then? Come off it. If you run into the back of someone, wrap your leg around theirs and don't touch the ball it's a penalty. As far as I saw Anichebe fell over near Skrtel and there wasn't even a proper appeal for it.

Yep, not to mention Anichebe actually pushed Alonso over using both hands to win the ball in the first place anyway. How that wasnt given was incredible.

I wasnt saying it wasnt a peno, i thought it was 50/50 and i can see why it wasnt given. I thought their's might've been given on another day.

Do i have to agree with you?

no way was it 50-50. He came in from behind an took Torres's leg away without touching the ball.

Fair enough if the Ref didn't see the same from his angle but to call it 50-50 is incredible - even the Everton fans next to me in the pub all agreed it was a definate penaltly.

anyway, its doesn't matter now - we didn't get it, they scored and the rest is history.

True. Should have been a foul on Alonso, even then, I don't think the chellenge in the box was worthy of a pen. Neither were clear cut pens imo, but talking about days after the event because we ****ed up an drew shows how desperate we are becoming.

You mean we should have brought on another defender for the set-piece?

Maybe we just have a different viewpoint redspin.

Last time i checked, it's allowed.

I think he means Rafa should have brought on Mascherano if he wanted to hold onto the lead or Babel to push on for more of an attacking threat. Bringing Lucas on made absolute zero sense
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!
