I am amazed that hardly anything has been said, on fourms, in the press about his 'tackle' at the end of the game.

The BBC chalk it up to 'a bizarre incident'. I think it was the worst display of petulance and bad sportsmanship I've seen in a long while - not to mention dangerous, and right under the nose of the linesman. I can't understand people not being up in arms about it.

Probably because most people feel that we got away with one with regards to the Lampard red card. That coupled with Stevies headless chicken routines during several moments of yesterdays game could easily have seen him red carded.

Unfortunately it was overshadowed by the Lampard incident.

I don't know if he's a particularly dirty player but I think that challenge was borne out of frustration - it's always guaranteed to infuriate the opposition when a leading team starts holding the ball up in the corner.

Hope he gets the 3 match ban he deserves for it though.

Fair play to Scholari who agreed that he should have been sent off.

It was insane! The officials have no bottle whatsoever, I mean the linesman was literally inches away FFS

That was a strange one alright. In the pub I was in the Liverpool fans were laughing while I was screaming for a red.

With the officials missing it, a review and subseqent ban is on the cards - fully deserved.

i might be wrong but i thought if a foul was being given the linesman waves his flag around like an excited ethiopian with his first bag of crisps then puts it up in the direction of the awarded team. if it is for a goal kick/throw-in/corner, they are merely meant to raise it in the relevant direction.

the tool yesterday waved it around which indicated that he had seen it and knew it was a foul and then bottled it. surely the fact that nothing was awarded for it means that the FA can review it and punish it after unless it is included in the referees match report.

                could be totally wrong though
                in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

It had no bearing on the game, so was therefore not the main talking point. With limited time to discuss the game not much is likely to be said on the TV. And due to no serious injury to Yossi and 3 points to LFC the fans are over looking it too.

Maybe also the shock factor that the Assistant Ref did **** all about it to?!?!?
                  Forwards.......

I'll just C+P my post from another thread

What annoyed me in the post match analysis, and on MOTD was that they just kind of laughed the incident off in a "haha how did he get away with that". It was ****ing disgraceful if you ask me, and he should get a three match ban. Rescind Lampard's and ban the monobrowed Bruce Lee wannabe.
I have to say fair play to the players for not reacting to it though, many teams would have done.

What's even more strange about the whole incident is that Chelsea got a free kick for it.

                        Aye can't agree more.

I understand Lampard's sending off was the main talking point, but I can't see how that can be glossed over as much as it has. Is that really the sort of behaviour we want our kids copying in sunday league?

He had a stinker of a game too. He just stood there and watched while Aurelio took a touch, composed himself, and then whipped in that great cross for Nando to score.

For that he should have our thanks........and then get a 3 match ban for the kung fu.

Fortunately, MOTD didn't dwell on Stevie's dive or when he kicked out in the first half.
