    Can't argue with that!!

You can't really say that one is better than another unless you are comparing like with like - midfielders, strikers or defenders, but I would still rather have Souey in my team before anyone else (don't tell Tommy Smith!!!

      King Kenny without a doubt.

Wait till Gerrard has finished his career and only then should he be judged alongside the all time Liverpool greats.

There is No Doubt That Gerrard is the Legend of this Era.

        Will he be the Greatest?

IMO He Needs to win a couple of Premiership Titles and Manage Liverpool To a few Trophies before he can be called Greater than King Kenny.

        I hope He Does that

I think it will be hard for Gerrard to surpass Kenny...Kenny has won something like 8 league titles as player/manager?. But if Gerrard can win us a couple of Premiership titles together with another European Cup, the name "Gerrard" will always crop up when this question is posed. Before Gerrard, it was always going to be Dalglish with a few mention of Barnes. If Gerrard can take us to that next level, Dalglish will have some competition.

Souness is still the greatest midfielder we ever had imho. The man was a machine. He had the lot, great engine, great positioning sense. Hell of a tackler, great shot, good passer, and most of all, he could lead.

            As for Kenny vs Stevie?

Has to be Kenny for me, Stevie has a bit to go before he can fill the shoes of some of the legends we have been lucky enough to have had play in the red shirt, but he is still young enough to earn himself a place beside them as an equal.

One of the differences in Stevie's favour, that hasn't already been mentioned, is that technically, Stevie could continue playing for us well into his mid 30's, probably reverting to a holding midfielder or right back when he loses some of his pace and power.

He would have therefore given over 15 years of service to the club, as a player.

At the moment though, it's still clearly King Kenny.

Yeah good point. Kenny *only* started playing for Liverpool when he was 27 didn't he?

If you look at it like that then I think Stieve is defo going to be at least on a par with the king by the time he finishes. SG is improving every year, in fact I don't think he is going to be in his prime for another year or two. What a thought!!

Let's not forget that Stevie hasn't always been blessed with the most talented group of peers.

True. But we already know that Stevie is amongst the most talented group of players Liverpool have had. They key to distinguishing himself from the rest and matching Dalglish is to win the League title.
